Philipp Kohlschreiber: A Brief Biography

Philipp Kohlschreiber is a tennis player from Germany, who turned professional in 2001. He has won six doubles and four singles titles and has a ranking of world number 16 as of 30 July 2012. He won his first career title in Munich defeating Mikhail Youzhny in 2007 thereby becoming the first German player to win the event since Michael Stich in 1994. In 2008, Kohlschreiber won his second career title after defeating Juan Carlos Ferrero in the final. Kohlschreiber got back to winning ways by 2010 at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells after beating German Philipp Petzschner in straight sets. Kohlschreiber captured his third career title at the 2011 Gerry Weber Open in Halle defeating compatriot Philipp Petzschner in the final. The following year, Kohlschreiber reached the semifinals of Gerry Weber Open 2012 defeating Rafael Nadal in the quarterfinals
