Thoi Singh: A Brief Biography
Born on October 5, 1990, Thoi Singh an Indian footballer who plays for Chennaiyin FC in the Indian Super League. He featured in eight matches of the Indian Super League 2017.
Background
The footballer who traces roots from Manipur has represented India at U-20 level. Thoi was selected for the U16s in Manipur from where he proceeded towards playing a match in Tripura in 2004.
From there he was picked for U17 side and later participated in Asian Football Confederation(AFC) U17 Championship.
Seeing his good performance, he was then selected to play for U19 Indian team side in 2007. He then joined Indian Bank football team and played in the Second Division I League.
He started his professional career playing for Mahindra United from where he moved to Salgaocar, United Sikkim and Mumbai Tigers after which he was selected by Bengaluru FC. Chennaiyin FC included him in 2015 ISL auctions.
Debut
Thoi made his I-League debut on August 1, 2010 for Mahindra United FC in I-League 2010.
Rise to glory
Thoi joined the Salgaocar Club , Goa in 2010 and the team became champion in Indian League 2010 after which his talent was noticed and he was called by Baichung Bhutia to play for his club, United Sikkim from where he qualified for the 1st division Indian League and since then he has been unstoppable.
Club career
Thoi has featured in Indian Super League 2015 for Chennaiyin FC which emerged as the winner. He played in I-League 2014-15 for Bengaluru FC. Thoi also played in Federation Cup 2015. He played in AFC Champions League and AFC Cup.
