He started playing high school football as a freshman. He led his team to a 13-2 record and a state championship in his freshman year. In his junior year, two seasons later he led the team to a 15-0 record and won third state title consecutively.


The Virginia Coaches Association and Virginia Preps named him First-team All-State. In his junior year, he was named Second-team All-Region quarterback. He also secured Dulles District Offensive Player of the Year and was awarded All-Dulles District First Team.


College Career

In 2018, Trace McSorley graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a degree in accounting and he is looking forward to getting his second degree in journalism. He started playing college football at Penn State. It would be insightful to take a deep dive into his college years.


Season 2015: Trace McSorley appeared in 6 games during his redshirt freshman year. He played a few games. In 2016, after starter Christian Hackenberg was injured.
