Chris Jericho was tricked into handing Scorpio Sky a title match next week!

This week's AEW Dynamite featured a number of action packed matches along with some entertaining and unexpected bits as well. So far, AEW has been quite consistent with their shows and last night's episode was no exception.

A big-time rematch between Kenny Omega and PAC, along with the Dynamite Dozen Battle Royal winners MJF and Adam 'Hangman' Page facing off against each other, and Chris Jericho's title defense against Scorpio Sky will surely keep fans hooked for next week's episode.

Here are a few interesting observations from this week's AEW Dynamite. What did you think of last night's episode? As always, feel free to let us know what you think in the comments section below.

#3: Why Jon Moxley's appeal has skyrocketed since the past few weeks

Jon Moxley has been at the top of his game over the past few weeks. It also seems like he is encouraged to let loose and be himself every week on Dynamite.

Since Full Gear, Moxley has turned into an even bigger attraction for AEW. His infamous Non-Sanctioned Match against Kenny Omega added a ton of momentum to Moxley's character.

What's even more important is to keep that momentum going throughout the next several weeks as well. After Full Gear, it looks like the higher-ups have been booking Jon Moxley to his strengths and that certainly bodes well for AEW.

So the question arises: Who can stop Jon Moxley on his way to the top of AEW's weekly rankings?

Now that Darby Allin had his chance against Moxley, who do you think is next in line to go one-on-one with one of AEW's top attractions?

Judging by how things are going so far, it looks like Jon Moxley may very well be challenging the AEW World Champion in the very near future.

#2: Why the Dynamite Dozen Battle Royal did not feel like filler content

A Battle Royal match too often devolves into a meaningless segment where viewers are likelier to mentally tune away. After all, these matches have become fairly predictable and they usually follow a rather monotonous series of events, especially nowadays.

Even though last night's Dynamite Dozen Battle Royal had predictable winners ('Hangman' Page and MJF), what kept fans hooked were the entertaining spots embedded throughout the match.

Billy Gunn was a surprise entrant, and Gunn's overexposure was a great ploy to keep fans distracted from the eventual predictability of the finish. Orange Cassidy also received the loudest pop during the contest and stole the show, despite not really doing anything!

Current storylines also converged during the Battle Royal. Christopher Daniels distracted Pentagon Jr. which led to the latter's early elimination from the contest. Shawn Spears pushed Joey Janela off the top rope, resulting in Janela's elimination.

On top of that, you have random shenanigans such as Jimmy Havoc going crazy on everyone with a staple gun. There were many entertaining spots all compiled in this spectacular Battle Royal Match.

In terms of sheer entertainment value, the Dynamite Dozen Battle Royal has set an excellent standard for future matches of the same kind.

#1: Why Chris Jericho is likely to retain his AEW World Championship next week

Chris Jericho and Scorpio Sky will face each other next week with the AEW World Championship at stake.

Both men shook hands to make it official, and even though the buildup to it was the silliest thing ever, the whole bit about Sky luring 'Le Champion' into actually giving him his desired title match was quite unique.

It shows that despite being so experienced at this stage of his career, Chris Jericho can still be naive sometimes. The whole silliness plays into Jericho's cartoonish heel persona as well. 'Le Champion' is cool, but in a very silly way.

Make no mistake, despite what it looks like right now, Scorpio Sky's push might eventually culminate into a World Title win later in his career. As for now, it is too early for him to bag the title victory next week, and Chris Jericho is yet to lose a step as the AEW World Champion.

While 'Le Champion' is likely to retain his title next week, several legitimate contenders who can dethrone him as the 'top guy' belong in the Top 5 AEW Singles Rankings from last week - PAC has had a solid run so far (#1). Moxley should be in the 'Top 3' category already after last night's win, and apart from Cody, Mox has a great chance, if he is provided a title shot against Chris Jericho.

Who do you think will dethrone Chris Jericho as the AEW World Champion?
