AEW News: Sonny Kiss comments on signing with AEW

What's the story?

Last week, All Elite Wrestling held a press conference for their Double or Nothing event. During the press conference, Sonny Kiss came out and announced he will be at Double or Nothing. Double or Nothing is being held on May 25th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. I reached out to Sonny Kiss for comments on signing with AEW.

In case you didn't know...

AEW signing Sonny Kiss is excellent for everyone. Not only did AEW sign Sonny Kiss, who is one half of the first openly gay wrestling couple dating an independent wrestler, Killian McMurphy, but the promotion also made professional wrestling history signing Nyla Rose making her the first transgender wrestler to sign to a major promotion. This is great news for professional wrestling and The LGBT Community.

The heart of the matter

Sonny Kiss is also XO Lishus on Lucha Underground. When I asked Sonny for comments on signing with AEW, he said, "I will simultaneously be with both AEW and Lucha Underground. It's just an amazing experience that I am so grateful for. I am glad that both Lucha Underground and AEW are taking that chance with representation by using an authentic LGBT person as that role model."

What's next?

Sonny Kiss made waves on the independent scene and on Lucha Underground as XO Lishus in 2018. It looks like the wave is getting bigger for Kiss as his 2019 starts with AEW. Kiss will debut with AEW at Double or Nothing, but who will Sonny Kiss face? We'll have to wait and see
