AEW Revolution: 5 possible finishes for Omega/Hangman Page vs. the Young Bucks

The Elite will meet and it will certainly be a treat.
The Elite will meet and it will certainly be a treat.

The dissension that has engulfed the Elite over the last few months will come to a head at All Elite Wrestling's Revolution PPV. The Young Bucks earned a AEW Tag Team title shot by way of winning a tag team battle royale last week.

As time has passed over the last few months, Hangman Page has seemed to drift further and further away from his group of friends. Instead, he's instead turned to drinking and celebrating with the fans. It isn't a heel turn but rather a good guy acting differently than he has been previously perceived by his friends in the Elite. It has added some layers to his character as well as some seeds of dissension in the group that helped form AEW.

When AEW formed, many felt that it would only be a matter of time before the Young Bucks won the AEW Tag Team titles. Instead, a different team from the Elite would be the team to capture the gold, Omega and Page. The dynamic has been kept level as both teams are faces and have backed each other up when confronted by heel tag teams. Could that be something that changes this Saturday?

Regardless of the outcome, one thing is likely with this match - it should deliver some memorable spots. Whichever team wins will obviously deserve it, but another big question surrounding the showdown is if someone will turn heel. It doesn't need to happen, but seeds have been planted over the weeks on Dynamite and Being the Elite. So who will win and how will they get there? Here are five possible finishes for the AEW Tag Team title match between Kenny Omega/Hangman Page versus the Young Bucks.

#5 Hangman Page and Kenny Omega win clean

Omega and Page
Omega and Page

Omega and the Bucks will surely enter the match with the purest of intentions. They're friends in and out of the ring and have been respectable of each other when facing off against each other in AEW.

Page has followed the rules but has been nonchalant about caring about the pre-match and post-match festivities. He's there to pick up a win and drink beer in no particular order. I expect all but Page to try and keep things civil among the friends. If they do, then one team will likely pick up a clean victory after a crazy, spot-filled contest.

Since the duo of Hangman and Omega just recently won the titles a month ago on the Jericho Cruise, it would be a little strange for them to lose them so soon. Depending on the expected fall out from this match, and if anything big happens storyline-wise, Page and Omega could pick up a clean win.

#4 Outside interference leads to Page/Omega win

The Butcher and the Blade could cause some havoc.

Is something like miscommunication going to lead to one team winning? We've seen Omega and Page accidentally hit each other with moves during their matches. But when all has been said and done, they've regrouped and retained their titles. Page hasn't shared the same affinity for the Bucks and things have been on thin ice for the last few months.

Beer will certainly come into play either before, during or after the match. It's a part of Page's gimmick now and it allows him to interact with the fans. Since he has recently altered how he handles things, there could be a moment where Nick or Matt Jackson gets hit with a taste of pilsner. It could be an accident or it could be planned.

Then there are heel teams like Ortiz and Santana, the Lucha Bros and the Butcher and the Blade that are not booked in matches for the show. Any number of those tag teams, or all of them, could feasibly interject themselves into the bout. The Dark Order have targeted every face in AEW and mainly SCU and the Bucks. The other three teams have fought the Bucks for much of Dynamite's run and could easily interfere to lead to one team winning. If a team does interfere, it would then set up a program with the team that interjected itself.

#3 The Young Bucks win clean

For at least the last five years, the Bucks have been considered one of the best tag teams in the world. They've won titles in every other promotion in which they've competed. While it is still only a year old, many people felt that they would win the AEW Tag Team titles sooner or later. It was only a matter of time until they hoisted the gold.

Most of us thought that Omega and Page would be holding titles in AEW at some point instead of winning tag team titles with each other. But here we are and both men are putting on great matches weekly with various opponents. One strange thing about AEW's tag division is that all of the teams have practically faced off with each other already.

The Bucks have done a decent job of putting some other teams over and cannot win every match. They were "upset" by Private Party in the first round of the tag title tournament and are 3-2 in 2020. It's not out of the realm of possibility that they walk out of Chicago as the new Champs. Nick and Matt are in charge of some of the booking, so they could just feel that it's time for a title run. They've been honorable thus far so they could pick up the titles after a clean win at Revolution.

#2 A time limit draw

Pac and Omega initially battled to a draw in their Iron Man match. Will the tag team title match be the second one in one week?
Pac and Omega initially battled to a draw in their Iron Man match. Will the tag team title match be the second one in one week?

One facet of match finishes that AEW has used from time to time is draws. The time left in a match is constantly revealed by the ring announcer so as to increase the tension for a finish. It came into play with both Darby Allin vs. Cody and Jungle Boy against Le Champion.

When AEW wants to protect both sides of a contest, it uses non-finishes or draws. After Omega and Pac had a 30-minute Iron Man match on the go-home Dynamite, a time constraint probably won't be used again so soon.

It could, however, be an easy way to book themselves out of an actual finish if the feuding factions within the Elite are meant to continue fighting each other. There's been the ongoing storyline of Page's disillusion or aloof behavior when the Elite are involved in confrontations. Omega hasn't really squared off opposing the Bucks many times in AEW, so in order to keep both sides looking strong, a time-limit draw could be the finish. That way, if they wanted to prolong the feud or up the stakes in a series of matches, this type of finish could accomplish just that.

#1 The Young Bucks turn heel and cheat to win

Nick and Matt Jackson

During the whole process of Hangman's change in character, he hasn't really acted like a true heel. He's just come to do business in the ring and then leaves when it is finished. Page has tried to get a word in when both teams have been interviewed. During the questioning, the Bucks are treated like the more important subject or the interviewer doesn't give Page time to answer.

For that reason alone, it's easy to see why he'd be a bit frustrated. He still chills with the fans after matches so that isn't a heel move either. The Bucks, on the other hand, acted like heels during their interview on Dynamite, claiming that Page was "nothing but a jobber" before they took him into the Bullet Club. They still consider themselves the best tag team in the world even if they aren't holding the titles.

The whole situation has been presented for Page to turn heel and completely sever ties with the Elite. He hasn't been bad to Omega, though, so it could easily be a misdirect in order to have someone else turn heel. Both Omega and the Bucks claimed that they thought they'd already be atop AEW but things have played out differently. They could easily turn on Page and/or Omega and cheat to win the titles they thought they should have already won. It would set things up nicely for the next few months as the Elite would fracture.
