We will analyse the top football commercials ever we have seen over the years.Since every major Football tournament is accompanied by a flurry of footballing advertisements featuring the contemporary stars. We look back at some of the best advertisements made during the past decades.

#10 Caged football Match

Created for the 2002 world cup, this ad consists of caged football matches featuring more than 20 of the worlds best football players at the time. The game is refereed by Manchester United great Eric Cantona.

#9 Cantona\'s good guys Vs the Devils

Shot before the 1996 Euro Championships, this commercial features the likes of Eric Cantona and his army (team) fighting for the good guys against the devils who try to destroy them. The ending sees Cantona blasting a fire ball into the devil’s chest. This ad was banned from Danish cinemas and even got criticized by FIFA.

#8 Now is what you make it

This really cool Pepsi advertisement features players like Robin Van Persie, Ramos, Messi, Aguero etc.. It has a simple and beautiful theme coupled with awesome music . It focuses on youtube sensation Stony as he walks across the streets of Rio. Towards the end of the ad, Stony runs into Grammy Award -nominated Janelle Monae who is singing David Bowie’s classic “Heroes” with an open guitar case at her feet.

This Adidas ad from 2006 has two children selecting their teams for a football match. However, instead of picking kids from their local school or neighbourhood, Pedro and José get to pick their dream team consisting of international football stars from the past and present. As usual, we see a number of Global superstars, even Franz Beckenbauer. Yes! even Beckenbauer. This gem of an ad is smartly made and is a far cry from the usual Adidas football ads that fall short

#6 Cowboy Style!

This decade old commercial is eye catching mainly due to the Clint Eastwood like movie setting coupled with the stars of yester years of Real Madrid and Manchester United battling it out for Pepsi. Instead of a cowboy shootout, here we see David Beckham stepping in to score against Casillas. Does he score? You would have to watch and see!

The ad starts as a match between France and Netherlands which leads to chaos as young people swarm in. Nike always brings a star studded ads as the world cup arrives. It does not disappoint in 2014 as almost all of the Nike sponsored footballers make an appearance along with Critiano Ronaldo’s girlfriend Irina Shayk and Kobe Bryant. The commercial is about a group of kids transforming themselves into world-class soccer players while playing a football game .

#3 Brazil at the Airport

Going as favourites to the 1998 world cup, this advertisement features the whole Brazilian team wreaking havoc in an airport. It is funny and well shot. Directed by John Woo, this advertisement features Ronaldo falling just short of goal just like how the 1998 world cup turned out to be. Prophetic? You decide.
