The final day of the 37-day Star Sports Pro Kabaddi tournament witnessed U Mumba beat Bengaluru Bulls to lift the trophy, while Patna Pirates were pipped to 3rd place by Meraj Sheykh-led Telugu Titans. The NSCI Stadium in Mumbai hosted the spectacle that was the final of the second season of the franchise-based kabaddi tournament.Stars from all industries descended in Mumbai to watch the action unfold. Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt flagged off the proceedings of the day with a brilliant rendition of the national anthem while fellow actors Katrina Kaif and Saif Ali Khan were also present. India's cricket captain MS Dhoni also graced the occasion while plenty of Mumbai City FC players saw U Mumba win the title.Here is a collection of the best pictures from the day:

#1 Anup Kumar

This is the picture which will be splattered all over the newspapers tomorrow. The U Mumba captain Anup Kumar is lifted on the shoulders by the support staff of the team. The Indian team’s vice captain guided his team to a sensational tournament which saw them lose just 2 matches and emerge victorious while entertaining the crowd at the same time. If anybody deserves to be carried on the shoulders, it is the captain of the winning team – Anup Kumar.

#2 MS Dhoni

The captain of the Indian cricket team MS Dhoni made Pro Kabaddi a richer tournament by gracing the occasion. ‘Captain Cool’, as he is fondly called, was seen on the mat for the national anthem, while he had a fun time with the hosts before the start of the day’s action. The moment which the crowd would remember would be Dhoni doing the “Thigh 5”, which he is seen doing in the picture above. The 34-year-old had a blast on the final day of Pro Kabaddi and so did the others who got to see Dhoni in front of their eyes.

#3 Bollywood and football

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif was present at the NSCI and she mingled with players from the city’s Indian Super League (ISL) franchise – Mumbai City FC. Brazilian footballer Andre Moritz got to witness the Indian sport of kabaddi and along with his teammates clicked a selfie with the gorgeous Katrina Kaif.

The ISL is scheduled to kick off in a little over a month – 3^rd October 2015, but the training camps have started and the Mumbai City FC players took time out to watch the spectacle that is Star Sports Pro Kabaddi.

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt kicked off proceedings on the final day of the second season of Pro Kabaddi with the national anthem. The 22-year-old, who is also famous for lending his voice to songs, sang the anthem in front of a packed NSCI Stadium in Mumbai. Also seen in the picture is Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif, India’s cricket captain MS Dhoni, President of International Kabaddi Federation Janardhan Singh Gehlot and chairman of the Mahindra Group Anand Mahindra alongside the Pro Kabaddi trophy.

#5 U Mumba celebration

The entire U Mumba team – players, coaches, owner, backroom staff etc pose with the Pro Kabaddi trophy after winning the tournament. This picture doesn’t really need an explanation as the delight on each face is there for everyone to see.

The men behind the U Mumba victory – Bhaskaran Edachery (L) and Ravi Shetty (R). Bhaskaran E. is also the coach of the Indian national kabaddi teams – men and women, while Ravi Shetty coached U Mumba to the runners-up spot last season. The deadly duo combined to mastermind a sensational campaign for U Mumba.
