#8 Unchartered 4

Nathan Drake is the badass hero, and a star in Sony’s action adventure game Unchartered, and he’s back again in its fourth instalment. Naughty Dog has always given much importance to detail and production value, and Uncharted being exclusive for the ps4 will allow them to use PS4’s technical potential to the maximum. It is unclear where (or when) Uncharted 4 will take place, but the initial teaser showed several areas on a map of the east coast of Africa, including the Cape of Good Hope, and Madagascar. The area called 'The Sonquas' on the map is a historic name for the area during the 1800s, so maybe a hint to the time period.

The debut trailer too is out and though short, it is absolutely stunning and the clip was in-engine, so we saw exactly how the game will look like. The clip shows a finely detailed Nathan Drake groggily getting up on a muddy river shore and shuffling into a scary tropical temple, with skeletons in cages, swinging about.

#7 Hellblade

Hellblade, revealed during Sony's press conference at Gamescom 2014, is the newest game from developer Ninja Theory, creators of Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Oddyssey to the West, and DmC: Devil May Cry. Ninja Theory is stressing the fact that Hellblade is an AAA quality game despite being independently published. The trailer has a visual style that resembles Heavenly Sword, but there is no connection between the two games. Ninja Theory is defined by three things: ninja-class melee game-play, strong character stories and a unique art vision.

On Hellblade, they promise to double down on what they do best to give us a deeper character in a twisted world with brutal relentless combat. The introductory trailer introduces you to the Hellblade world, which is based on Celtic myth. The trailer is focused on Senua, Hellblade’s protagonist as she embarks on a very personal journey through a hellish underworld. Artwork of villains on their official site shows intense murderous and garish figures all ready to do you in. Another PS4 exclusive that we can’t wait to get our hands on.

#6 The Last Guardian

The Last Guardian, previously known as Project Trico (working title), is the game in development by Team Ico, who previously developed ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. The Last Guardian was originally slated for a holiday 2011 release, announced at the Tokyo Game Show 2010. It was subsequently pushed back to 2012. After missing this release date and not appearing at E3 2012, The Last Guardian's release plans remained a mystery until Sony finally came out saying that the game has not been cancelled and is still in progress, and most likely to be a PS4 exclusive.

The Last Guardian tells a boy-and-his-dog tale, where the dog is a giant and feathered, yet seemingly amiable beast called Trico. Team Ico has not been forthcoming with specific plot details, but game-play will involve the boy manipulating his companion to navigate a variety of environmental puzzles. One key element of The Last Guardian's game-play is you bonding with Trico so that he'll be more responsive to you. When there is hardly any bonding between the two, the massive beast goes about its business, basically ignoring the boy, until you manage using your surroundings to get what you want out of Trico.

From Hidetaka Miyazaki and FromSoftware, creators of the legendary games Demon's Souls and Dark Souls, comes Bloodborne, an all-new action RPG brimming with unforgiving, unrelenting terror, developed exclusively for the PlayStation 4 system. Described as a spiritual successor to Demon's Souls, the game takes place in the ancient city of Yharnam, a destination for pilgrim travelers. The player will arrive on their own pilgrimage, only to discover the city is inflicted with a terrible illness. The player must battle horrific residents and beasts that are inflicted with this illness.

Face your fears as you search for answers in the ancient city, now cursed with a strange endemic illness spreading through the streets like wildfire. Danger, death and madness lurk around every corner of this dark and horrific world, and you must discover its darkest secrets in order to survive. There have been some changes in the game from previous titles from Soul’s games. One of the largest game-play changes is combat, and the speed at which you fight enemies.

Previously in the Soul's games, an emphasis was placed on defense and patience and although it is still true, there is a stronger focus on speed and offense in. By using your firearm and melee weapon, battles can be much quicker and more action packed.

PS4 exclusive

Well topping the list of truly epic games exclusive to the PS4, we have Wild Sheep’s upcoming game called Wild. An open world is limited at best, but with Wild having an open world that is the size of Europe, we don’t think it will be of much concern. Set 10,000 years in the past, the game will also have seasons and weather just like a real world would. Every time you play you’ll discover new things, even in the same place as before.

However, the best feature of the game is the multitude of things you can control. The developers have decided that every creature should be playable in the game, even the giant and dangerous ones! So now, you can play as a heavily muscled human or any living creature; you can be a wolf, eagle, or a boar, among others. All these features come together to open so many new game-play situations, especially when playing online which another feature we absolutely love.

How you approach the game is all up to you, what you do and even what you are, is all on you to choose. Wild's ambitious and impressive trailer shows off the beautiful world and its inhabitants. It's unclear what you'll actually do in Wild besides hunt, but the concept alone is certainly interesting.
