A pay-per-view which followed WrestleMania, Backlash was supposed to be the stage for everyone to settle the score for everything that went down at Mania.

So a rematch to their previous one, Benoit, Michaels and Triple H fought out a great match that saw bodies taking unprecedented punishments.

Benoit and Angle had a great chemistry because of their similar styles while Rey complimented with his flashiness. He even hit both men for a 619 in the middle of the match which was one of the memorable moments.

The standard setter for all triple threat matches, there wouldn’t have been a better way for WWE to headline the twentieth anniversary edition of WrestleMania.

The Match was set up after Benoit won the Royal Rumble eliminating the giant Big Show while Triple H and Michaels went to a draw in their last man standing match at the Rumble itself. Once the stage was set and the bell rang, all three men pushed the gears and never took their foot off the gas.

A combination of WWE’s favorite smash mouth style and Benoit’s excellent technical abilities, it just felt like a ballet dance done to perfection by three dancers.

The storyline and subplot of the whole match added more layers of emotions to which made sure that it ended up as an unmatched classic.

Triple H and Shawn Michaels were coming off their very long rivalry while Benoit was the underdog who was looking to get to his dreams beating two big names.

The Underdog finally reached the top and ended WrestleMania with a memorable moment and if Bryan wins against Triple H, in place of Benoit it could be Bryan exactly a decade after this epic.
