Karthik replaces injured Saha for Afghanistan Test
Dinesh Karthik could make his first Test appearance in eight years after being called up to India's squad as a replacement for the injured Wriddhiman Saha.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Saha picked up a right thumb injury during Sunrisers Hyderabad's IPL clash against Kolkata Knight Riders on May 25.
And Karthik, who turned 33 on Friday, has another reason to celebrate this weekend after he was chosen to step in as cover for the one-off meeting with Test debutants Afghanistan in Bengaluru, starting on June 14.
Karthik made his Test bow in 2004 but the last of his 23 appearances in the longest form came in 2010, against Bangladesh in Chittagong.
