Newcastle vs Liverpool: Snapping the Losing Streak

It is a season of many ‘could have beens’ for Liverpool FC. Following two successive defeats to relegation candidates in QPR and Wigan Athletic, the Reds now find themselves 13 points behind 4th placed Tottenham Hotspur.

Enough is Enough

Enough is enough. I simply don’t understand why we can beat the better teams in the league, whilst we tend to struggle more against teams from the lower depths of the league table. It simply isn’t acceptable. Liverpool’s players need to stop being so complacent and begin to put in more good and consistent performances. The losing streak, coupled with the tenancy to lose a game after a big win must stop.

It’s been five losses in six matches for Liverpool. One of Liverpool FC’s worst run of form over a period of six games in recent history.

This Season is Unimportant

The way I see things. This season is unimportant. I couldn’t care less about where we finish in the Premier League table come the end of the season in May. But it will definitely be a bonus if we can succeed in the capture of the FA Cup this season. Reason why I don’t care about the Premier League anymore? There’s simply no point. I think it’s virtually impossible to catch up with Tottenham Hotspur. The gap is way to big. Furthermore, there isn’t any point in catching up with the 5th and 6th placed teams, given the fact that we have already secured our spot in the Europa League next season.

The only reason why I see we should continue to fight is because of the prize money come the end of the season. And even that isn’t that big of a bonus.

What I really want for Liverpool FC is a sense of direction for next season. There are still so many unanswered questions. Is Andy Carroll still going to be part of the team? How should we use Steven Gerrard? What to do with Downing, Henderson and Charlie Adam.

Our team simply isn’t settled yet, apart from our back four, and it’s and alarming prospect.
