The draw for the Quarterfinals for the 2011/12 UEFA Europa League was carried out earlier today in Nyon, Switzerland. And there are some mouth watering clashes coming.
There are some interesting match-ups in the quarterfinals with two Spanish-German clashes – Schalke 04 vs Athletic Bilbao and Atletico Madrid vs Hannover 96, while the third Spanish team left in the competition will face another Dutch side in AZ Alkmaar after having beaten PSV Eindhoven in the last round. The fourth encounter will see Portuguese side Sporting Lisboa take on Metalist Kharkiv from the Ukraine.
The quarterfinal matches will be played on March 29 and April 5, while the semifinal games are scheduled to take place on April 19 and 26 with the final on May 9 in Bucharest, Romania.
