2023 NFL roster cuts

All 32 teams must cut down their 90-man rosters to 53 players by Aug. 29. Notable names might switch teams due to cuts or trades. Other teams might wait to sign veterans as free agents.

NFL players

The Eagles signed Mariota for $5M as Hurts' backup. Mariota struggled, McKee excelled. Eagles cautious after prior costly backup errors, considering another veteran alongside McKee.

Marcus Mariota

All offseason, McCoy was expected to start Week 1. Amid his injuries, he's been decent against Tune. Cards' addition of Dobbs adds competition. McCoy was seen as a temporary option at most.

Colt McCoy

Edwards-Helaire has fallen to No. 3 on the RB depth chart at best, with Pacheco starts and McKinnon handles passing. Chiefs could cut him to save $1M.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire

As an undrafted rookie, Knight admirably filled in with 400 yards in 4 starts. But with Cook, Hall, Carter, and Abanikanda in town, his role is uncertain.

Zonovan Knight

Joining the Patriots in 2022, Montgomery seemed like a good fit, but injuries hampered him. Elliott's entry as Stevenson's relief should leave the remaining spots to younger options.
