Having started his career at the Ajax academy, Belgian defender Toby Alderweireld has always been a technically sound player. The centre-back spent five successful seasons with Ajax, winning the Eredivisie on 4 occasions, a KNVB Cup and a Johan Cruyff Shield before departing.

In 2013, Atletico Madrid snapped him with just one year left on his contract. He made only 12 league appearances, but Atletico won their first La Liga title in 17 years. Since then, he spent one season on loan at Southampton, followed by six strong seasons at Tottenham without any silverware.

Fourth on this list is a former treble winner and Tottenham Hotspur's current midfield general, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg. Signed from Southampton at the start of the 2020-21 season, Højbjerg has turned out to be one of Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy’s shrewdest buys off late.

The Dane was a graduate of the Bayern Munich Academy where he spent 4 years, 2 seasons as a squad player and the remaining seasons out on loan. Højbjerg made just 25 appearances for Bayern overall, but won the Bundesliga 4 times, DFB Pokal thrice and a Club World Cup respectively.

Giovani Lo Celso has been on Tottenham’s books since the start of the 2019/20 season. The midfielder has been unlucky with injuries during his time in London and is yet to fulfil his potential. He started his career at Rosario Central before moving to Paris Saint-Germain in 2016.

In his 2 seasons with PSG, Lo Celso won 2 Ligue 1 titles and as many Coupe de France, Coupe de la Ligue, and Trophee des Champions titles respectively. He also enjoyed a successful loan stint with Real Betis in 2018 which, to date, remains the best season of his career.

Second on the list is the mercurial right-back Serge Aurier, who’s won 13 pieces of silverware throughout his career. Having started in France with Lens, Aurier rose to fame at Toulouse. In the 2013/14 season, the Ivory Coast international was voted the best right-back in Ligue 1.

Also, strong displays in the 2014 World Cup saw PSG sign Aurier the same summer. He enjoyed three trophy-filled seasons at PSG, winning 2 Ligue 1 titles, and 10 other major trophies. He also lifted the Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast in 2015, before his switch to Tottenham in 2017.

LUCAS MOURA (20 TROPHIES)

Unsurprisingly, topping the list is Brazil international Lucas Moura. After all, he spent 6 successful and trophy-filled seasons at PSG. He started his career at Brazilian giants Sao Paulo and was an instant hit. At the age of 20, Moura helped the team lift the Copa Sudamericana.

After being linked to some big clubs, it was ultimately PSG who won the race for the Brazilian in 2013. Lucas spent the next six years in Paris, winning as many as 18 domestic trophies. He also won the Confederations Cup in 2013 with Brazil. In the winter window of 2018, Tottenham signed him.
