5 NFL records that are unlikely to ever be broken

While the NFL is constantly reinventing itself and adding games to the schedule, there are some milestones that will never be surpassed. Here are 5 such records.

#5 Derrick Thomas' 7 sacks in a single game

With 7 sacks in a single game, former Chiefs star Derrick Thomas still holds the current NFL record. Thomas went berserk with this record in 1990 against the Seahawks.

#4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 26-game losing streak

Over the 1976 and 1977 seasons, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost 26 games in a row during the regular season. Since that time, no other team has suffered more than 20 straight losses.

#3 Emmitt Smith's 4,409 ball carries

Emmitt Smith's record of 4,409 ball carries is straight up beast mode. To break this record, a running back on average would need 300 carries per season for 15 straight years. Good luck with that.

#2 Stephen Gostowski successfully converts 523 consecutive extra-point attempts

A former kicker for the Patriots, Gostowski managed 523 consecutive extra-point conversions. But now that new extra point rules have been put in place, lengthening them by 13 yards, his record is nigh impossible to scale.

#1 Buffalo Bills lose four straight Super Bowls

Four seasons in a row, the Buffalo Bills made it to the Super Bowl, but they were unsuccessful in winning any of them. An unlucky streak of sorts, and certainly not one to boast about.
