Rahul Dravid, a former India captain, led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008. Dravid captained the Bangalore team in 14 matches but managed only 4 wins as they failed to reach the next stage of the competition.

KEVIN PIETERSEN (2009)

Kevin Pietersen won a lucrative IPL deal with RCB. He was handed the captaincy of RCB in 2009, but fared poorly. Under the former England player, RCB won only 2 of their 6 matches. Pietersen left the IPL midway to report for international duty, and he was replaced by Anil Kumble.

ANIL KUMBLE (2009-2010)

Anil Kumble fared well as RCB captain. The Indian leg-spinner led RCB in 35 matches across 2 seasons, winning 19 games and losing 16. He guided RCB to the IPL final in 2009. In the next edition of the competition, RCB qualified for the playoffs but failed to make it into the final, though.

DANIEL VETTORI (2011-2012)

Former New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori led RCB in the 2011 and 2012 editions of the cash-rich league. He led the team in 28 games across competitions, recording 15 wins and losing 13. In 2011, Vettori took RCB to their second IPL final, but lost to Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

VIRAT KOHLI (Since 2013)

Current RCB captain Virat Kohli assumed reins of the team in 2013. Under his captaincy, RCB reached the 2016 IPL final. RCB have made it to the IPL playoffs thrice under Kohli but have played just one final. The top run-scorer in IPL history has led RCB in 125 matches, winning 55.
