HOW DO PLAYERS DECLARE FOR THE NFL DRAFT?

The 2023 NFL draft is around the corner. It takes place from 27 April to 29 April 2023. Like every year, this batch has some spectacular prospects to watch out for.

A player must have graduated from high school at least three years prior to being considered for the NFL draft.

Three Years

Since a college player can only apply for the draft after their current football season, using the remaining player's CFB eligibility prior to the next season is another way to declare.

Another Way

In the next step, the NFL's player personnel department will check all candidates' eligibility. Every year, 3,000 college players will need to be researched by the staff.

Eligibility Verification

To ensure all the details are correct, the NFL’s player personnel collaborates with the NCAA. Athletes entering the draft early must get their application checked.

Role of NCAA

NFL player personnel will consult with teams, agents, and schools to ensure the underclassmen are correct before they are fully eligible.

They then coordinate with teams and agents to make sure pro days go well. They certify that each player drafted is eligible to be selected as the draft progresses.

Draft

Once everything is done and the NFL draft is over, the NFL player personnel will reorganize and regroup and get ready for the next season.
