The numbers speak for themselves: 5326 runs in 55 FC matches at an average of 44.01, 3879 T20 runs at an average of 31.53, 2903 runs from 14 List A games and a total of seven games for India with a total of 263 runs at averages of 62.00 and 46.33 respectively. These numbers combined with his abilities surely merits one game in England.

With Ajinkya Rahane's inconsistency being a topic of discussion, it wouldn't hurt to make a change at some point in the series if the poor run continues.
