Jay Norvell critiques Deion Sanders’ signature style ahead of clash

With the Colorado vs. Colorado State game almost upon us, the latter was required to create promotional videos for ESPN. Coach Norvell expressed his players' frustration with external variables and Coach Prime's apparel coming up as questions during the question-and-answer session. He emphasized the need for professionalism in communication, reflecting on how distractions might disrupt his team's focus. Jay Norvell also emphasized the Colorado State Rams' readiness to face adversity.

"They’re not gonna like us no matter what we say or do, it doesn’t matter. Okay? So let’s go up there and play. That’s just how I feel about it. So I don’t mean to take over the show, but I’m just tired of it. I’m tired of all that stuff, and I know everybody else is too. So let’s go play."

We've all seen Deion Sanders wear sunglasses, a hat, and even a hoodie, which is part of his particular style and confidence. The head coach has donned the same fashion style since becoming head coach of Jackson State and has almost become synonymous with it.  Jay Norvell, on the other hand, doesn't seem to like the ensemble.

Earlier this week, Colorado State coach Jay Norvell mentioned his enthusiasm for the upcoming game versus Coach Prime's rebuilt Buffaloes. He emphasized the significance of two African-American head coaches going head to head. Deion Sanders expressed his love for Rams coach Jeff Fisher, praising his coaching abilities. "I know he’s a great coach. He has those guys playing hard. I like that. I’m glad he said that, I like that. Unfortunately, one of the brothers got to lose. When you face another black head coach, unfortunately, and you want to see us win." Deion Sanders said.

Sanders wasn't going to let Norvell's comments go unnoticed and addressed them in a team meeting. He spoke to his players at the end of practice on Thursday in a video shared on his son Deion Jr.'s YouTube page about how this game has become "personal."

"I was minding my own business, watching some film, trying to get ready, trying to be the best coach I could be," Sanders told his team in practice, "and I read some bulljunk that (Jay) Norvell said about us. Why would you want to talk about us when we don't talk about nobody? All we do is come out here, work our butts off and get ready for Saturday. But when they give us ammunition, they done messed around and made it personal. It was just gonna be a good game, but they made it personal."

On Saturday, 10 p.m. ET, the Colorado State Rams face their old foe, the Colorado Buffaloes, at Folsom Field. Throughout the 60 minutes, this interstate showdown has gone from exciting to sitting with popcorn for some fireworks. It will be fascinating to see if Jay Norvell addresses Coach Prime's comments or if this is the final topic of discussion before kickoff.

According to the most recent AP Poll, the Colorado Buffaloes are ranked 18th in college football. The current betting line has the Buffs winning by 23 points, and this Colorado team has demonstrated its ability to score. With how the college football rankings go and the need to feast upon lesser teams to show dominance, Deion Sanders will not call off the dogs.

Shedeur Sanders, Colorado quarterback, and Deion's son said after the Nebraska game about how he took the Cornhuskers huddling at the 50-yard line before the game personally. With it now being a reference to his father, expect the Buffaloes to respond with fury.
