SCOTT KUGGELEIJN SET TO JOIN RCB
New Zealand pacer Scott Kuggeleijn will join Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as a replacement for Kane Richardson. Kuggeleijn had been with the Mumbai Indians as a reserve bowler for the IPL 2021 until Tuesday. Meanwhile, Richardson left for home on Monday due to personal reasons.
This is the second time Scott Kuggeleijn has joined an IPL side as a replacement player. Back in 2019, Kuggeleijn came in as an injury replacement for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fast bowler Lungi Ngidi. The New Zealand bowler played two matches that season for CSK.
SECOND IPL STINT
Scott Kuggeleijn is a 29-year-old pace-bowling all-rounder and has played 2 ODI’s and 16 T20I matches for New Zealand. Kuggeleijn has 5 and 13 wickets each in both the formats. Meanwhile, with the bat Kuggeleijn has scored 11 runs in ODI and 79 in T20I respectively.
PLAYER PROFILE
Kuggeleijn has so far played twice in the IPL, both times for CSK. From his 2 matches, Kuggeleijn has managed to take as many wickets. Kuggeleijn has an economy rate of 8.88 and his best bowling figures read 2/37 in the cash-rich T20 league.
IPL CAREER
The New Zealand pacer was in the news for the wrong reasons, after being accused of rape in 2016. He went on trail a second time in 2017 after a hung jury in the first one, and was not convicted. The case against Kuggeleijn still remains open.
