Teams with the worst salary cap issues in 2024

Regardless of a successful season, the future holds chances. Every non-SB-winning team aims to improve, while the champion seeks to defend, influenced by their salary cap status.

NFL teams

The Broncos are over the cap with little success. While parting ways with Wilson won't solve all issues, they're likely to begin a rebuild this offseason, though it won't be immediate.

Denver Broncos

Despite limited cap space, the Bills boast a strong roster due to Allen's high cost as a top QB. Being $53M over the cap isn't disastrous, given their regular playoff appearances.

Buffalo Bills

The Chargers bear hefty deals for Herbert, Bosa, & Allen, all talented but not yielding true contention. Despite potential roster changes with a new HC, they face around $55M over the cap.

Los Angeles Chargers

Despite winning 11 games & reaching the playoffs, Miami's ceiling might be limited. Hill & Ramsey's costs, along with a potential costly Tua extension, could worsen their situation.

Miami Dolphins

The Saints face a substantial $88M over the cap, due to big deals, with Carr's $150M deal being problematic. Their excessive spending hasn't resulted in a dominant team.
