Josh Allen, the star quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, states that NFL cutdown day remains perpetually challenging.
Even though Allen is one of the best QBs, he finds cutdown day emotionally challenging. He emphasizes his effort to befriend all teammates, making it tough to witness their departures.
While Josh Allen acknowledges it's a part of the NFL, he admits on The QB Room that bidding farewell to numerous players remains emotionally challenging.
"Sad day in sports. One of the saddest day in sports. There are thousands of guys that are no longer on a team. No one really knows what’s the next direction."
"Some guys are contemplating retirement, some guys are contemplating playing in the XFL. It’s just a sad day. If you don’t get to the locker room early enough to say goodbye, you may never see them again."
NFL teams must reduce their rosters from 90 to 53 players for the season, leaving many with no NFL prospects. This also adds to Josh Allen's emotional challenge.
However, due to the practice squad's expansion, NFL teams can retain some of those players within their facilities.
