Cam Newton is arguably one among the greatest dual-threat QBs in the NFL. In 2015, he won the MVP for leading the underdogs Panthers to the Super Bowl.
However, over the past few years, Newton has been bouncing around the league, playing in smaller roles, and suffering nagging ailments that have taken away his explosive power.
Since getting drafted number-one overall, this is the first season he isn’t participating. Prior to this, he was a core member of the Panthers and Patriots, over his 11 year career.
The real reason he isn’t playing despite being healthy is because he doesn’t want to be a backup QB. He’s still in peak shape and might consider returning in the 2023 season
Newton is enjoying his life. This year, he’s appeared on a lot of podcasts, some of which have stirred up controversy, some have enhanced the aura surrounding his brand.
Newton occasionally uses the media to demonstrate his in-depth understanding of the QB position. He also uploads workout videos to showcase fitness as prepares for a potential return to the NFL.
