The NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported on Tuesday (March 28) that the Philadelphia Eagles had a request approved, allowing players to wear a jersey with the number 0.

Pelissero shared a photo of the updated rule presented at the 2023 NFL Owner's conference. Any player, except for OL & DL, can wear the No. 0 jersey & also confirmed that this includes punters & placekickers.

Ridley, a new WR for the Jaguars, has decided to take advantage of the new rule and become the first player in the team's history to wear the No. 0 jersey during games.

Clement was the first Pit player to don the no. 0 from '46 to '48. He played in 25 games & completed 86/228 passes for 1,630 yds & 11 scores. He also returned kicks & punts, & ran 239 times for 991 yards & 7 TDs.

Johnny O, one of the first NFL players to don jersey no. 0, played for the Cards, Redskins & Lions. He was chosen to compete in the Pro Bowl twice. In '62, he retired from AFL after playing for the Broncos.

The last player to don the no. 0 was Logan, who played as a safety for 2 yrs with the Cowboys & later joined the Saints in '67. After the Saints released him, the Cowboys re-signed him but cut him. He died in 2003.
