Which team has beaten Nick Saban the most?

Nick Saban is not invincible. However, by all accounts, he is the closest any CFB coach has gone to being unbeatable. Despite this, many teams have previously beaten the famed coach's team multiple times.

So, which team has the most victories over Nick Saban? That question will be addressed here. You may be shocked by the response as well. The Auburn Tigers have won the most games against Saban as of 2023. They've defeated the legendary coach a total of eight times.

We found this number by glancing at a Bleacher Report story from 2016, which stated that the Tigers had defeated Saban six times. Then we just added how many additional times the team has defeated Saban since then. We learned that Auburn's past two wins against the coach occurred in 2017 and 2019.

Auburn and Alabama have a rivalry, even if it isn't as intense as, say, Michigan vs. Ohio State. Furthermore, some may believe that of all the colleges to defeat Saban several times, Auburn was one of the most unlikely. When the Tigers play the Crimson Tide, they aren't always favourites, but they appear to be pretty successful overall.

Nick Saban has a staggering 281-69-1 record as a college football coach. This gives him an 805 victory %, which is among the highest in NCAA history. His record as Crimson Tide head coach is even wilder, with a 195-27 overall win-loss record for 'Bama. As a result, when Saban loses, the entire college football world takes notice.

The following are a few of Alabama's most memorable losses during the Nick Saban era (via AL.com): SEC Championship Game, 2008: People expected Alabama to win and lose at the same time, given that Saban was only in his second season as head coach. They appeared to be in control of the game until Tim Tebow assisted the Gators in scoring 14 unanswered points to win and advance to the BCS final game.

Iron Bowl, 2013: The 2013 "Kick Six" game was one of eight Tigers victories over Saban, and it stopped Alabama from finishing undefeated and capturing its third consecutive national championship. In the final seconds of the game, the Tide attempted a 57-yard field goal, but it fell short. Auburn's Chris Davis was able to catch the ball just short of the goalposts as a result of this. He then raced across the field to the end zone to win the game.

Alabama vs. Clemson, 2018: For whatever reason, Nick Saban's team appeared to crumble in the face of opposition in this game. Clemson's receivers were simply blitzing their way through the Tide's defense, and 'Bama just couldn't seem to convert in the red zone.

Penalties, mental errors, and turnovers aided the Crimson Tide's defeat against the Longhorns in week 2, as did subpar play on both lines of scrimmage, as the team failed to adequately protect quarterback Jalen Milroe and the ground game, and struggled to bring consistent pressure to Quinn Ewers.

It wasn't what Alabama fans expected after a two-loss season and failure to make the College Football Playoff, and it will be up to Saban and his assistants to build a stronger squad out of the one he has now.
