British No. 1 Johanna Konta also split with her Spanish coach Esteban Carillo – after climbing over a hundred spots on the WTA singles rankings and only narrowly missing out on qualifying for the WTA Finals in Singapore after a title win for Russsian ace Svetlana Kuznetsova at another tournament.

Now, the top-ranked Briton, who is Britain’s highest-ranked female tennis player in history, has also split with her coach.

Sadly for Konta, she suffered a major personal blow in the same week, with her mental coach passing away suddenly. Our condolences are with the ace.
