ATP Miami - Roddick stuns Federer for only third win in 24 meetings
For just the third time in 24 career meetings, American Andy Roddick defeated long time nemesis Roger Federer – the second time he has done that in Miami.
Roddick won 7-6, 1-6, 6-4 playing agressive tennis. The American saved breakpoints in the third set against his serve and then broke the Swiss before holding on to win the match.
Roddick is through to the fourth round now.
Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic beat countryman Victor Troicki in straight sets. There were also wins for fifth seed David Ferrer, no. 8 Mardy Fish, former US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro.
