CBSE National Lawn Tennis Championship 2016 Kicks off in Billabong High International School, Noida

The CBSE National Lawn Tennis Championship kicked off at Noida’s Billabong High International School with a colorful opening ceremony, which concluded with an all Teams march past. A total of 56 schools comprising of 350 players and coaches in both the U-14 and U-19 categories are participating in the five-day event concluding with the finals on Dec 5.

Schools from India as well as countries from the Gulf region including those from the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Kuwait will also be seen in action. Champions will be decided in both individual and team events.

Speaking On the occasion at CBSE National lawn Tennis Championship sports event, Ms. Jasmine Gandhi, Director BHIS & Kangaroo Kids said, “We are feeling proud and it's our honour to host National level lawn tennis championship. Such events gives you a chance to witness the talents of students across the nation & Gulf countries.

“It also shows their hard work & enthusiasm towards the sports .We wish them all the success and achievements in their career. We also looking forward to hosting more such events at our school in near future”

In the opening days action Indian School Muscat, DPS Hyderabad, MM Public School Pitampura, Ajanta Public School Gurgaon emerged facile winners in the boys U-14 team category. In the U-19 boys the days winners were hosts Billabong High International School Noida, Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan Telengana, Sarla Chopra DAV and Little Angels Sonepat.

In the Girls U-14 Team matches Little Angles Sonepat, Pragyan School Greater Noida, Billabong High International School, Noida and DPS Sahibabad registered victories while in the U-19 Girls team matches Amity International Noida, MM Public School Pitampura and St.Joseph’s Tonk won their respective matches to move into the next round
