Sunday's victory against Roger Federer in Cincinnati made Novak Djokovic the first man to win all Masters 1000 titles on the ATP World Tour. The 31-year-old Serb has, of course, set several amazing records during his glittering career and has taken the game to heights never seen before.

Over the past two years, Novak has had his fair share of struggles, having to deal with a persistent elbow injury and a severe dip in form. It now looks as though the Serb has found the form that made him almost invincible between 2014-2016. His movement and serve have improved significantly over the last eight months, especially at this year's Wimbledon where he won his thirteenth major title.

He also made amends for the five previous defeats in Cincinnati finals, where he had lost three times to Roger Federer and twice to Andy Murray at the same stage. With the 31-year-old making history once more, here is a look back at some of the other records held by the Serbian superstar.

Holding all four majors at the same time

On 5th June 2016, Novak Djokovic made tennis history, as he became only the eighth man ever to win all four tennis majors. Some of the illustrious names on that list include Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Andre Agassi and Roy Emerson, with this achievement being a sign of true tennis royalty.

During his win over Andy Murray, however, Novak achieved a feat not even matched by Federer or Nadal, as he became the third man in history to hold all four majors at the same time. Novak's run of majors stretched from Wimbledon 2015 to the 2016 French Open, as he reigned supreme for nearly a year and a half and left everybody trailing in his wake.

Djokovic's win in Paris was a show of talent, technical ability and, of course, persistence. Nole had previously lost three finals at Roland Garros, with the Serb suffering at the hands of Rafael Nadal and Stan Wawrinka. After three final defeats at the same tournament, many would have resigned to failure and would have lost the energy needed to pursue the title once more. The former World No.1 was not to be denied, as he raised his level to new heights and eventually completed the set.

There was an overwhelming feeling of relief with Djokovic's victory given the heartbreaking losses he suffered in the years prior. Rafael Nadal's invincibility on clay and a one-in-a-million performance from Stan Wawrinka left Djokovic in tatters, as he wondered what it would take to lift the title he craved so badly.

Six Australian Open title victories

Novak's six Australian Open title wins

Every tennis legend has one Grand Slam that has helped establish them as one of the game's greats. Roger Federer, of course, is most synonymous with Wimbledon, while Rafael Nadal is most at home on the red dirt of Roland Garros. Some of Novak Djokovic's most defining moments, however, have taken place during the Australian Open, ranging from stellar performances to marathon finals. The hard courts Down Under have been the place for some of Nole's greatest triumphs, with six Australian Open titles to his name.

The most impressive factor to consider is that each of Novak's Australian Open wins have come in very different circumstances. The Serb first burst onto the scene as a 20-year-old, where he defeated the reigning champion, Roger Federer in three scintillating sets to reach his first final in Australia. He faced an unseeded Jo-Wilfred Tsonga who had produced an equally remarkable performance against the second seed Rafael Nadal. Djokovic dealt with the pressure of the final brilliantly and despite losing the first set, won the final in four closely contested sets.

The five-hour fifty-three-minute victory against Rafael Nadal was a feat of physical and mental endurance that continues to live long in the memory. The final in 2012 finished in the early hours of the morning and left both players on the brink of collapsing as they pushed themselves to the limit. His performances in 2015 and 2016 were both sublime, as he crushed Britain's hopes of an Andy Murray victory on both occasions.

The winning record against both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are considered two of the greatest tennis players ever to have graced a tennis court. Their rivalry has captivated millions and revolutionised the sport, with their power, speed and artistry. Djokovic, on the other hand, has not yet received the same kind of adoration as Federer or Nadal, despite the fact he has a winning record against the pair of them. The 31-year-old's head-to-head against Nadal stands 27-25 in favour of the Serb, while Novak leads Federer 24-22.

Early on in Novak's career, the Swiss Maestro and the Spanish bull-fighter had the better of him completely, as the Serbian fell short of the standard required. Nadal and Federer were battling out in Grand Slam finals, whilst Novak remained as the No.3 seed, not doing enough to wrestle the Grand Slams away from the clutches of Federer or Nadal.

Despite his maiden victory ten years ago, Novak still played understudy to the pair for the following three years In 2011, however, the Serb started to establish himself as one of the world's elite, winning three majors in one of the most dominant seasons ever seen. The 31-year-old attributed this success to his altered service motion and his improved gluten-free diet.

To have a winning record against both after playing on so many occasions makes one appreciate the consistency shown by Djokovic between 2011 and 2016, where he defeated the pair consistently on every surface.
