World No. 2 Novak Djokovic and his wife Jelena are to become parents for a second time, with magazine Story revealing the news, later confirmed by Serbian news website Blic, who interviewed the Serbian ace. The pair already share son Stefan, who will be three this year, and will now welcome a daughter, the website revealed.

In a recent interview with Blic, Djokovic said he was “overjoyed” at the impending arrival, but did not at the time reveal the gender of the baby, saying instead that the most important thing was the baby’s health.

The pregnancy, which had been speculated about for some time, was all but confirmed when Jelena cheered on her husband at the Monte Carlo Masters in their hometown of Monaco with a visibly pregnant belly.

Although the pair did not put out an official statement, Jelena Djokovic posted to social media image sharing website Instagram, attaching a ‘pregnant woman’ emoji to a photograph of herself and husband Novak taking a cloudy walk on the beach.

The baby is allegedly due in August, just prior to the 2017 US Open, where Novak Djokovic will look to better his 2016 results, having lost the final to Stan Wawrinka.

Djokovic is not the only expectant parent on Tour, either, with World No. 1 Serena Williams accidentally revealing her own pregnancy via Snapchat, later confirmed via her publicist. The ace is now 22 weeks pregnant, meaning she will give birth this May.
