Roger Federer gifted another cow at Gstaad

A very milky homecoming

Roger Federer has made a late entry into the Swiss Open tennis tournament at Gstaad. A heady and welcoming round of applause aside, the Swiss maestro was rewarded with a cow by the tournament organizers for having decided to return to the tournament for the first time since 2004. He named his new cow Desiree.

Let’s not forget, this isn’t the first time Federer has been welcomed to Gstaad by the ‘moo’ of a cow. He received a cow back in 2003 too when he graced the tournament with his presence after having won his first Grand Slam at Wimbledon a few weeks earlier. He had named her Juliette.

Perhaps the organizers were just responding to Federer’s comments earlier this year at the Australian Open where he mentioned that he was cow-less. “She’s not around anymore. She’s long gone. I think her daughter’s gone, too. So way behind.”, said Roger in Australia.

Guess they heard you Roger!
