The Wizard is a Hardmode Terraria character focused on selling magic related items. The Wizard will shoot fireballs to defend himself in a way which is similar to the Flower of Fire. Most of his names are related to wizards from pop culture.
The Wizard will only spawn after the Wall of Flesh has been defeated, after which the Wizard will spawn in the cavern layer or below as the Bound Wizard. Talking to him in this state will cause him to respawn in an available house.
The Wizard is focused on selling magic related items such as the Crystal Ball, Ice Rod, Greater Mana Potion, Bell, Harp, Spell Tome, Book, Music Box, Empty Dropper, Wizard’s Hat, and Any Pylon.
While the Wizard doesn’t sell a wide variety of items, he still sells multiple useful items. The Wizard also has the difficulty associated with being a Hardmode Terraria NPC, making him more difficult to obtain despite his limited stock.
