His music is often defined as Latin trap and reggaeton but has also been said to have involved various other genres in his music, such as rock, bachata, and soul. He is known for his deep, slurred vocal style and his eccentric fashion sense, and is widely regarded to have helped bring reggaeton and trap music to an international audience.
Bad Bunny has frequently collaborated with the likes of J Balvin, Farruko, Residente, Arcángel, Jhay Cortez, Daddy Yankee, and Rosalía.Following the release of his breakthrough single “Soy Peor” in 2016, he rose to fame after collaborating with Cardi B and Drake on the singles “I Like It” and “Mia”, which featured on the US Billboard Hot 100 at number 1 and number 5, respectively.

Bad Bunny is a trans ally, and he uses his platform to shut down homophobia. During his performance of 'Ignorantes’ on Jimmy Fallon in February 2020, he wore a black skirt and a shirt that read “Mataron a Alexa, no a un hombre con flada.” This means: “They killed Alexa, not a man in a skirt.” Alexa Negrón Luciano was a Puerto Rican transgender woman, who was murdered shortly after photos of her being questioned by police for using a woman’s public bathroom circulated online.
