Alan Chin Stokes and Alex Chin Stokes (b. November 23, 1996) are a pair of American internet personalities known as the Stokes Twins. The twins were born and raised in China before they moved to Tennessee, USA when they were just 8 years old. They now live in California and are of English and Han Chinese descent.

The Stokes Twins first joined YouTube on April 11, 2008, and uploaded their first video on May 21, 2017, which was a Q&A video. Throughout their career on YouTube, they did challenge videos, cash giveaways, and pranks as part of their long-form content. They also started a series of myth-buster videos, where they test myths to see if they are real or fake.
Alex and Alan were part of a YouTube collective channel known as Sunset Park in 2017. They were a part of the group for almost a year before taking a hiatus from YouTube. In 2020, internet personality Brent Rivera asked the twins to be a part of his YouTube collective known as Amp World whose members include reputed creators like Andrew Davila (whom they met earlier in Sunset Park), Lexi Rivera, Ben Azelart, Dom Brack, Jeremy Hutchins, Lexi Hensler, and Pierson Wodzynski.

More than their content, the Stokes twins are infamous for their controversies. In October 2019, the twins made a video where they faked a bank robbery as a prank in two places. In the video, they wore black masks and outfits and carried duffel bags filled with money as they ran in public among a crowd of people who thought the robbery was happening in real life.
In that video, they are also seen asking unsuspecting commoners how to get away from the police. They also ask for clothing items and transportation help.
At one point in the video, they call an Uber driver, who was not aware of the prank. When the driver refused to drive them on the said pretext of them being robbers, they attempted to coerce him using force. After numerous bystanders called the police, the Uber driver was held at gunpoint by the police until it was found that the driver was not involved in the prank video. The twins were let off with a warning.
However, they later continued to film the rest of the video with a second prank four hours later at the University of California, Irvine. The police again caught the twins in Irvine and this time, they arrested them. In August 2020, the Stokes Twins were charged with false imprisonment caused by violence, menace, fraud, or deceit and falsely reporting an emergency in connection to the video.
The twins' attorneys have reportedly claimed that the twins are not guilty of the charges. The responding officers from the first prank reportedly gave suggestions on how to make the prank video, and one brother reportedly called the non-emergency line of the Irving Police Department twice to tell them that they were going to shoot a prank video, before the filming.
Their attorneys also raised questions about the time that had passed between the video and the charges; which took 10 months to come forward, and that the twins did not know about the charges until after the department released information publicly to the press about the same.
On April 1, 2021, the twins pleaded guilty to all charges. However, they managed to avoid jail time. The twins received a sentence including a mandatory 160 hours of community service. They had to serve probation in addition to paying restitution. The Stokes twins are also banned from the Irvine campus of the University of California, where they filmed their second prank in the same video. The video has since been removed from YouTube.
The Stokes twins have been repeatedly accused of stealing content as well as thumbnails from other YouTubers like MrBeast, SSSniperWolf, Mark Rober, and JianHao Tan. They have also been repeatedly accused of copying Charles the French's "Problem of Online Classes" video. This was further discussed by SunnyV2 in his video where he ‘exposed’ the Stokes Twins.
The twins are mainly active on YouTube, although they are also active on Instagram and TikTok.
