The Winnipeg Jets, formerly the Atlanta Thrashers, have had their share of ups and downs since their founding in 1999. After struggling in Atlanta, the team was relocated to Winnipeg in 2011 and renamed the Jets. They quickly became a competitive force, making their first playoff appearance in 2015. In 2018, they had their best regular-season record and reached the conference finals for the first time. Despite some playoff disappointments, including a sweep in 2021, the Jets remain a formidable team in the NHL's Western Conference.
Notably, the team is owned by True North Sports & Entertainment, with Mark Chipman serving as the executive chairman and governor of the team. Other than that, the on-field duties are taken care of by Captain Adam Lowry and General Manager Kevin Cheveldayoff.
