South Asian Games 2019: Volleyball Day 5 - India and Pakistan to clash in the men's final

India and Pakistan have sealed their spot in the men's final of the Volleyball event in the ongoing 13th South Asian Games held at Dasharath Rangashala covered hall. India has dominated in both men's and women's category yet again, as they are on the verge of another consecutive gold medal. As for Pakistan (men's) and Nepal (women's), both teams were bronze medalists in the 2016 edition and will look to end their journey on a winning note.

In the first semi-final of the men's category, both teams started on a neck to neck battle with India claiming the first and the second set 27-25, 25-19. Sri Lanka upset India with a comeback in the third set 21-25. However, the former gold-medalists under the likes of Ranjit Singh, Dipesh Sinha, and V Ajith Lal clinched the fourth set 25-21 to win the match by the margin 3-1.

Bangladesh squared off against Pakistan in the second semi-final, but the former had no answers against a formidable Pakistan team. Pakistan won the clash 0-3 with straight sets (15-25, 21-25, 24-26) to book a spot in the Final.

A day earlier, India and Nepal in the women's category registered victories in the semi-finals to book their spots in the Final.


The following matches for the bronze medal are set to take place on the sixth day of the Volleyball event in the ongoing South Asian Games 2019.
