Although she has played a heel character for the majority of her career, Alexa Bliss has been one of the most popular female Superstars on the WWE roster ever since she left NXT in 2016.

Within five months of joining the SmackDown brand, Alexa Bliss won the SmackDown Women’s Championship from Becky Lynch in December 2016 to claim her first title as a WWE Superstar.

“The Goddess of WWE” won the SmackDown Women’s Championship again in February 2017 before moving over to RAW, where she held the RAW Women’s Championship on three occasions – a combined total of 398 days – between April 2017 and August 2018.

As well as her multiple WrestleMania appearances, which included a hosting role at WrestleMania 35, Alexa Bliss added to her impressive list of WWE accomplishments in 2019 and 2020 when she won the Women’s Tag Team titles with Nikki Cross.

Now, with so many memorable Alexa Bliss moments to choose from, let’s take a look at 10 pictures that sum up her journey from Performance Center recruit to multi-time WWE Women’s Champion.

Before she received her WWE name, Alexa Bliss referred to herself as Baby Swag when she sent in an audition tape to apply to be a WWE Superstar in 2013.

She described herself as “fun, bubbly and flirty” and threatened to launch a “serious throwdown” on any opponents who got in her way.

The audition tape can be seen on Alexa Bliss’ 'Table for 3' episode with Lita and Trish Stratus on the WWE Network.

Alexa Bliss revealed in a WWE Then & Now video in 2019 that her attire in the picture above is a cheerleading outfit that she hoped would also be suitable as wrestling gear.

“It’s just what I knew. It wasn’t supposed to be like, ‘Oh, I’m coming out wearing cheerleading outfits because I’m a cheerleader.’ It was literally because I had no idea and no clue! Just very oblivious to everything.”

She wore the gear during her early babyface run in NXT between 2014-15, which saw her play a glitter fairy who blew glitter on her way to the ring.

#8 Triple H’s WrestleMania 30 entrance

WWE has been known to use NXT Superstars and other Performance Center recruits in WrestleMania entrances, with one of the most famous examples coming at WrestleMania 30 when Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks removed Triple H’s shoulder pads and cape before his match against Daniel Bryan.

A special WrestleMania 30 edition of WWE Network show ‘WWE 24’ included footage of Triple H telling all three NXT Superstars that the WrestleMania appearance would be their first of many – and he wasn’t wrong!

In May 2015, Alexa Bliss formed an alliance with Blake & Murphy by helping the duo retain the NXT Tag Team titles against Enzo Amore & Big Cass at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable.

Although Alexa Bliss never competed in a match at a TakeOver event, the trio featured prominently on NXT programming over the next year before “Little Miss Bliss” separated from the former Tag Team Champions in the weeks leading up to her move to WWE’s main roster.

Six NXT Superstars received a call-up to the main roster in the July 2016 brand split, including Alexa Bliss.

Blake & Murphy’s former manager was selected as the #20 pick on SmackDown (#47 overall pick), one place behind Mark Henry and one place ahead of Braun Strowman.

WWE Network footage showed the future RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion bursting into tears when the news was announced, while she received hugs from Murphy, Bayley, Billie Kay, Carmella and Peyton Royce.

#5 Alexa Bliss wins the SmackDown Women’s Championship

Considering Alexa Bliss had never competed in an NXT TakeOver match, it was somewhat surprising that she had so much success as a singles Superstar in her first few months on SmackDown.

“The Goddess of WWE” picked up statement-making victories over Becky Lynch and Naomi on the blue brand before defeating Lynch in a tables match at TLC 2016 to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship for the first time in her career.

Alexa Bliss has mentioned in media interviews that three years of training in NXT did not feel like long enough to prepare her for the main roster, which makes her early impact even more impressive!

#4 Alexa Bliss shines on RAW

Although Alexa Bliss was already a two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion when she walked into WrestleMania 33 with the title, she still had the difficult task of trying to establish herself with a new audience during her first nine months on the main roster.

In April 2017, WWE brought some much-needed changes to the RAW women’s division, which had been dominated by the same four Superstars – Bayley, Charlotte Flair, Nia Jax and Sasha Banks – for almost a year.

Alexa Bliss won the RAW Women’s Championship from Bayley just three weeks after joining the brand and she remained in title storylines for the next 17 months.

#3 Alexa Bliss misses Evolution

Alexa Bliss confirmed in her ‘WWE 365’ documentary on the WWE Network that she suffered two concussions in separate matches against Ronda Rousey in September and October 2018.

The rivalry with Rousey should have been one of the highlights of her WWE career, but it is difficult to look back at their three-month storyline without mentioning the unfortunate fact that Alexa Bliss had to miss the Evolution pay-per-view due to the second concussion.

This meant she was unable to face one of her biggest WWE idols, Trish Stratus, at the event.

#2 Hosting ‘A Moment of Bliss’

While Alexa Bliss feared that her in-ring career might be over following her concussions, WWE allowed her to remain an on-screen character on RAW as the host of ‘A Moment of Bliss’.

Much like ‘Miz TV’ or ‘The Highlight Reel’, the talk show often sets up matches that will take place later in the night on RAW or SmackDown.

It has also given Alexa Bliss the opportunity to showcase another side to her personality after her gradual babyface turn throughout 2019. Prior to that, she had portrayed a heel character for over four years.

During her time as a heel, Alexa Bliss had a history of getting exactly what she wanted from her best friends before turning against them when they least expected it.

In 2019, it looked as though Nikki Cross would fall victim to Bliss’ games in the same way that Mickie James and Nia Jax had done previously, but the two Superstars ended up working well together as a tag team.

They won the Women’s Tag Team titles from The IIconics in 2019 before regaining them from Asuka & Kairi Sane in 2020 at WrestleMania 36.
