10 unseen backstage SummerSlam photos; Heyman/Goldberg, Tag Team reunites, Bret Hart, and more

The 2019 WWE SummerSlam PPV is officially in the books, and the highly acclaimed show featured a number of newsworthy moments, including the crowning of a new WWE Universal Champion in Seth Rollins.

Additionally, WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg made his triumphant return to the ring and vanquished Dolph Ziggler after hitting the Jackhammer for the pinfall victory. Goldberg added insult to injury when he hit Ziggler with not one, but two post-match spears.

In other PPV news, Hall of Famer Trish Stratus returned to the ring and wowed fans with a great showing against Charlotte Flair. The bout ended with Flair picking up the win, but the ring veteran Stratus impressed fans with a fantastic outing.

#10 Ric Flair supports his daughter

Following her impressive win, Charlotte Flair was greeted backstage by her father and Hall of Famer Ric Flair. The two shared a deep embrace following Flair's excellent match against Trish Stratus.

The new WWE photo gallery features more images of Ric Flair, who was all smiles at the big PPV event in Toronto.

#9 Ricochet, The Man and Jason Jordan share a moment

WWE star Jason Jordan's in-ring future appears to be over following lingering neck issues that have plagued the young Superstar since 2018.

Following his in-ring departure, Jason Jordan has transitioned into a backstage role in WWE, and in the photo above, he can be seen sharing a moment with Becky Lynch and Ricochet backstage at SummerSlam. Ricochet competed against AJ Styles at the PPV, and in the show's opening match, Lynch defeated Natalya.

#8 Triple H fist bumps Brock Lesnar

This is a sight you probably thought you would never see - Triple H offering a fist bump to the former WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.

The photo looks like it was taken before the main event of the night, which saw The Beast lose his gold to Seth Rollins in an instant SummerSlam classic, and the former Champ appears to be more than confident heading into his main event match.

Following SummerSlam, Brock Lesnar's future in WWE is once again in question, but he is scheduled to appear at the SmackDown Live 20th anniversary special, hinting at a possible brand jump for The Beast.

#7 Paul Heyman greets Bill Goldberg

In yet another photo you thought you would never see, Raw Executive Director Paul Heyman is seen embracing Bill Goldberg following the WWE Hall of Famer's match against Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam.

Goldberg made very quick work of Ziggler in their squash match, but the performance roused the live crowd in Toronto, and made up for Goldberg's poor performance at WWE Super ShowDown.

With Heyman now in charge of Raw, fans might not have seen the last of Goldberg in a WWE ring.

#6 Andrade steals a kiss from Charlotte Flair

WWE star Andrade might be paired up with Zelina Vega on WWE TV, but in real life, the Superstar has been dating Charlotte Flair for the better part of 2019.

In the photo above, Andrade can be seen stealing a kiss backstage from Flair during the PPV, as Flair prepared to face Trish Stratus. Andrade did not have a match at SummerSlam, allowing him ample time to spend with Flair before and after her match.

#5 Drake Maverick looks hilarious

WWE star Drake Maverick has been offering some standout performances during the brief history of the 24/7 title, jockeying back and forth with R-Truth over the coveted gold which has been won and lost in the strangest of places.

As seen in the above photo, Maverick sported his SummerSlam gear throughout the show, likely entertaining talents and backstage WWE crew members.

In the past several months, Maverick has battled for the 24/7 title in his honeymoon suite and birthday suit, at his very own wedding, and in a multitude of other ridiculous situations which have put his name on the map in WWE. Pulling double duty as the 205 Live GM, Maverick is a star on the rise in WWE.

#4 Cesaro and Tyson Kidd reunite

In a photo that will certainly warm the hearts of many fans, as well as jog the memories of tag team wrestling enthusiasts, Cesaro and Tyson Kidd reunited over SummerSlam weekend in Toronto.

Kidd and Cesaro were once a formidable tag team until Kidd suffered a career-ending neck injury during a match against Samoa Joe.

Following the injury, Kidd moved into a backstage role in WWE and now works as a producer.

#3 Goldberg returns from action

Following his dominant win over Dolph Ziggler, Goldberg can be seen in the above photo returning to the Gorilla position for post-match festivities.

Goldberg impressed fans with his nostalgic bout against an equally skilled Dolph Ziggler and was able to secure not only a win over The Showoff but a shot at redemption following WWE Super ShowDown.

#2 Alicia Fox embraces Pat Patterson

It might seem like an odd pairing, but Alicia Fox and Hall of Famer Pat Patterson can be seen embracing in the above SummerSlam photo.

Reports surfaced following the PPV that Alicia Fox was sent home during SummerSlam weekend following a "drunken" incident, and no other details are known at this time.

#1 Triple H and Trish Stratus shake hands

WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus had the most surprising bout of the night at SummerSlam, wrestling Charlotte Flair in one of the best matches Stratus has ever had in her storied WWE career.

When Trish Stratus returned to the ring at WWE's first-ever Evolution PPV, there were questions surrounding her ability to compete after such a lengthy amount of time out of the ring, but Stratus proved herself at Evolution, and doubly proved herself at SummerSlam this year.

Bonus - Paul Heyman and Bret Hart hang out

Earlier this summer, WWE held a massive Raw Reunion special on the road to SummerSlam, and the show featured tons of legends and Hall of Famers, including Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, HBK, Mick Foley and more.

One name who was noticeably absent from the Raw Reunion show was Bret Hart, who chose not to attend the show despite being invited by WWE.

While Hart chose not to appear at Raw Reunion this summer, he was present backstage at SummerSlam this past weekend, likely supporting his niece Natalya in her bid to become the new WWE Raw Women's Champion. Natalya came up short in the bout, but Bret Hart appears to have had a good time nonetheless.
