WWE Champion, Drew McIntyre, is currently embroiled in a feud with "The Viper" Randy Orton. Orton and McIntyre will clash again at the coming pay-per-view event, Hell in a Cell.

Since becoming the WWE Champion at WrestleMania 36, McIntyre has defeated stars like Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley, Dolph Ziggler, and The Big Show, among others.

Nevertheless, The Chosen One has named various Superstars he would like to face from RAW, SmackDown, and NXT.

Here are 12 Superstars Drew McIntyre wants to compete against inside the squared circle.

#12. WWE RAW Superstar Sheamus

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Drew McIntyre named Sheamus as one of many opponents he wanted to face in WWE.

Sheamus has been recently involved in feuds with Big E and Jeff Hardy on SmackDown before the 2020 WWE Draft.

The earliest record of a singles competition between Sheamus and McIntyre dates back to FCW in 2009. Since then, both men have wrestled one-on-one on a few occasions like Tribute To The Troops '11, as well as during a SmackDown taping in 2012.

Times have changed considerably since then. A match between these accomplished world champions could be a hard-hitting slugfest today.

#11. WWE SmackDown Superstar Cesaro

In the same interview with Sports Illustrated, Drew McIntyre named Cesaro as an opponent he would like to work with. Interestingly, fans have never had the opportunity to see McIntyre and Cesaro in a one-on-one match.

Cesaro has been a tag team competitor for a while now. In fact, SmackDown retained The Swiss Cyborg alongside Shinsuke Nakamura as a tag team in the 2020 WWE Draft.

Even though McIntyre and Cesaro are on different brands right now, WWE's leniency towards the brand split has opened up various ways to schedule cross-brand matches.

#10 - 9. WWE NXT Superstars Roderick Strong and Adam Cole

Back in June, Drew McIntyre said he'd like to face Undisputed Era's Adam Cole and Roderick Strong from WWE's black and gold brand.

Strong was part of a heated feud with Dexter Lumis recently. As for Cole, the longest-reigning WWE NXT Champion held the brand's top prize for 403 days. Keith Lee ended his reign at The Great American Bash in July.

Afterward, Cole got involved in a high-profile feud with Pat McAfee, turning babyface in the process.

After losing the NXT title to Karrion Kross, who is now injured, Keith Lee moved to WWE RAW even though Cole had lost his title before that. Lee even crossed paths with Drew McIntyre on the red brand, and the future seems bright for The Limitless One.

Since NXT wasn't a part of the 2020 WWE Draft, there is no telling if members of The Undisputed Era will appear on RAW. When that eventually happens, Drew McIntyre will certainly be looking for a fight against Roderick Strong and Adam Cole.

#8. WWE RAW Superstar Jinder Mahal

Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre's history together makes it seem obvious that The Modern Day Maharaja should face the WWE Champion one day. McIntyre did say that a match against his former 3MB stablemate is something that should happen in WWE.

Unfortunately, WWE revealed that Jinder underwent surgery to fix complications in his knee in May. So, The Modern Day Maharaja is currently inactive.

When Jinder Mahal eventually makes his return to WWE, a match against Drew McIntyre could make for an intriguing storyline.

#7. WWE SmackDown Superstar Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan hasn't been on television since he lost in the final round of SmackDown's Intercontinental Championship Tournament against AJ Styles. His sabbatical from the company is likely due to the birth of his second child.

Drew McIntyre would certainly like to have a match against a former WWE Champion and one of the most defining Superstars of the previous decade.

Recently, Bryan remained on the blue brand following the 2020 WWE Draft. Aside from a WWE Superstars taping back in 2011, McIntyre and Bryan haven't faced each other in a one-on-one match on RAW, SmackDown, or a pay-per-view.

#6. WWE Free Agent John Cena

John Cena hasn't hinted at a WWE return after his infamous cinematic match against Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 36. He is currently listed as an unassigned superstar or a free agent on WWE's roster list.

In August, Drew McIntyre spoke to The Sun. He said the following when it came to a potential match against John Cena:

"I want that name on my list. It'd be a heck of a match."

John Cena and Drew McIntyre have never faced each other in a one-on-one match for WWE.

#5. WWE Free Agent Edge

During the Greatest Wrestling Match Ever against Randy Orton at WWE Backlash, Edge suffered a tricep injury.

While Edge is still preparing to make a comeback, Orton is currently embroiled in a feud with WWE Champion, Drew McIntyre.

Speaking exclusively with Sportskeeda back in June, McIntyre revealed that a match against Edge is something he's definitely ready to have from a physical and mental standpoint.

If Randy Orton manages to become the new WWE Champion sooner rather than later, a Triple Threat Match between Orton, McIntyre, and Edge could happen if the Rated-R Superstar returns ahead of WrestleMania 37.

#4 - 3. WWE RAW and SmackDown's Kofi Kingston and Big E

In Drew McIntyre's previously mentioned interview with Sports Illustrated, the WWE Champion name The New Day's Kofi Kingston and Big E as opponents he'd like to face within the company.

During this year's WWE Draft, an unexpected plot development occurred when The New Day's Kingston and Xavier Woods moved to RAW while Big E remained on SmackDown.

All three members of The New Day operated on the blue brand before the draft. Now that Kingston is on RAW, a potential clash against McIntyre isn't exactly out of the question.

The Chosen One had this to say about a potential match against Kingston right now:

“We tangled a lot during my first run in the company, and those were my favourite matches during that period. Ten years later, we’re older and wiser, and that would come through in our matches. Kofi and I would have something way more special now than we did before.”

Meanwhile, Big E is reportedly set to benefit from a singles push on SmackDown. In the aforementioned interview, McIntyre said he would be excited to work with Big E if the opportunity ever presented itself.

#2. WWE RAW Superstar AJ Styles

During Sportskeeda's interview with Drew McIntyre, the WWE Champion said he wanted to wrestle AJ Styles. So, The Scottish Psychopath suggested bringing him back to RAW following The Phenomenal One's trade to SmackDown a few months ago.

This week, RAW drafted Styles, making a potential match between the two plausible after Hell in a Cell.

AJ Styles had a notable stint on SmackDown as the Intercontinental Champion for a while. However, that's all in the past as The Phenomenal One will look to target the top champion on RAW sooner rather than later.

#1. WWE SmackDown Superstar and current Universal Champion Roman Reigns

WWE Champion, Drew McIntyre, recently spoke to Vicente Beltrán of ViBe & Wrestling. McIntyre talked about various topics including what would be the biggest possible WWE match for him.

"If I could only have one title I would like to have a super match with Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship and create a dominating champion; that would be a tremendous match."

Although Reigns vs. McIntyre isn't an immediate possibility, WWE could book both of these men in a cross-branded champion vs. champion match at Survivor Series.
