2 reasons why Alexa Bliss and The Fiend should split and 3 reasons why they shouldn't

Who could have predicted Alexa Bliss' fate around last year's WrestleMania event? The pandemic era of WWE has featured many bizarre developments and The Fiend/Bray Wyatt's connection with Bliss stands out.

At the upcoming WrestleMania 37 pay-per-view, The Fiend will fight Randy Orton as part of their long-standing rivalry. Bliss has played an integral role in this saga as well. She carried out some important developments in the storyline during The Fiend's absence from WWE television between TLC 2020 and Fastlane 2021.

WWE has built a reputation around breaking up legitimate duos and factions in recent times. With that in mind, let's take a look at the reasons for and against a potential split between The Fiend and Alexa Bliss.

#1 Reason why Alexa Bliss and The Fiend shouldn't split — Both characters bring out each other's strengths

Many WWE fans love Alexa Bliss and Bray Wyatt's partnership because of their on-screen chemistry. Both stars were clearly talented before they became associated with each other. However, Bliss and Wyatt's partnership has allowed them to create a safe space for their individual talents to flourish.

It is not easy to stand out in WWE's default landscape, where every man and woman wants to become a champion. However, Bliss and Wyatt have created a supernatural environment that is extensively detached from WWE's usual proceedings.

As a result, Alexa Bliss and Bray Wyatt's characters operate in a fictional universe with their own rules. Any other WWE Superstar that gets sucked into a feud with Bliss or Wyatt has to play their bizarre game. With the demonic duo in control, they have free reign to showcase each other's strengths on WWE television.

Alexa Bliss has only reached her excellent potential as a character since becoming associated with Bray Wyatt and his alter-ego, The Fiend. Meanwhile, Bliss has added a whole new dimension to The Fiend's creative arc as well.

If the stars split up, just like many WWE duos in recent memory, it would be a step back in terms of everything Bliss and Wyatt have created together.

#1 Reason why Alexa Bliss and The Fiend should split — Their chaotic partnership is destined to spiral out of control at some point

Will Alexa Bliss and The Fiend's alliance end on a bitter note?

As much as The Fiend and Alexa Bliss benefit from each other, let's not forget that Bray Wyatt's alter-ego manipulated Bliss in the first place. She was only used as a pawn in The Fiend and Braun Strowman's feud last year.

But the consequences of The Fiend's actions were severe, as Bliss soon became obsessed with him and lost her connection with reality on WWE television.

This duo has often been compared to The Joker and Harley Quinn — another fictional and toxic partnership that eventually ends in chaos. If not soon, the apparent power play between The Fiend and Alexa Bliss will lead to drastic consequences in the long run.

It would be illogical for them to stay on the same page forever. Bliss is the one who was wronged and she must break free from The Fiend's shackles somewhere down the road.

#2 Reason why Alexa Bliss and The Fiend shouldn't split — The Fiend's existence depends on Alexa Bliss at the moment

In 2021, Alexa Bliss might be the one in control of The Fiend. Until recently, there weren't any specified limits or boundaries imposed upon The Fiend's abilities.

However, Bliss has now explained that after the Firefly Inferno match at last year's TLC pay-per-view, The Fiend was trapped inside her "Fiend-in-the-box" object. She used the same box to summon him on Monday Night RAW not too long ago.

It's almost as if this mysterious box is slightly similar to what the Urn meant for The Undertaker.

Since Alexa Bliss possesses the box, she likely holds the most important key to The Fiend's existence. As a result, it wouldn't make sense to break up the duo anytime soon.

This plot development adds a lot of intrigue to the pre-existing dynamic between Bliss and The Fiend. The latter initially seemed in control of their partnership. But over the past few months, the power balance could have already shifted between them.

Perhaps Alexa Bliss could use the box against The Fiend at some point, but it would feel too abrupt if WWE pulled the trigger on this idea right now.

#2 Reason why Alexa Bliss and The Fiend should split — Alexa Bliss hasn't received her own spotlight in the women's division since joining forces with The Fiend

Although Alexa Bliss has been an integral part of Monday Night RAW in recent times, most of her onscreen pursuits are related to Bray Wyatt's storylines.

While there is nothing wrong with her presence in Wyatt's feuds, Bliss has not made the same impact in the RAW women's division. For some reason, WWE hasn't utilized her storytelling abilities in the same manner outside of her segments with Randy Orton and The Fiend.

Alexa Bliss feuded with her former tag team partner Nikki Cross for a short while. But Cross never came close to being a major threat to Bliss. The Fiend's sidekick also had brief encounters with RAW Women's Champion, Asuka. But before this could become a legitimate storyline, Bliss had to refocus her attention towards Orton.

If WWE cannot book her into a separate feud and in an angle with The Fiend simultaneously, perhaps a temporary or permanent split between the two stars could allow Alexa Bliss to shift her priorities towards the women's division once again.

#3 Reason why Alexa Bliss and The Fiend shouldn't split — Alexa Bliss genuinely loves to work with Bray Wyatt

Alexa Bliss and Bray Wyatt have great on-screen chemistry with each other. Additionally, Bliss has publicly expressed how much she has enjoyed her latest run in WWE.

Towards the end of last year, Bliss revealed her honest thoughts on working with Wyatt. She appeared on "Alison Rosen Is Your New Best Friend" to share that it has been a creatively invigorating experience for her in WWE:

"I have been having so much fun in my recent time with WWE. I've always wanted to be working alongside a character like Bray, and because he is so good at what he does. He puts so much background research into what he does, and he is the true epitome of what a WWE Superstar should be, you know."
"He is compelling, he is always evolving and changing and being something new and fresh, and to be able to work with someone like that just always gets your creative juices going."

In the same interview, Alexa Bliss added that a performer is only as good as the other person he or she is working with. Bliss also believes that adapting to Bray Wyatt's creative approach will help her improve as a performer.

With that in mind, is it necessary to break up the duo so soon? Clearly, Bliss feels that her partnership with Wyatt is quite beneficial.

Alexa Bliss and Bray Wyatt's storyline is not something that can be rehashed every six months or so. Since Bliss is also quite open to this unique opportunity, it would be a shame if WWE ended her collaboration with Wyatt anytime soon.
