3 biggest mistakes WWE did at RAW Reunion (22 July 2019)

It was a good show
It was a good show

The expectations were sky-high from RAW and WWE didn't let us down. The company brought back memories at RAW Reunion as several past Superstars were present. Without a shadow of a doubt, it was one of the biggest episodes of the Red Brand.

The show had some exciting segments. John Cena opened the show with The Usos. The twins then defeated The Revival in a non-title match. The 24/7 Title changed hands multiple times as several legends won the belt. Roman Reigns defeated Samoa Joe while Seth Rollins and AJ Styles collided but the match ended in no contest.

Becky Lynch was the special guest in 'A Moment of Bliss', but The Man was confronted by her SummerSlam opponent Natalya. The two women had a brawl and we got a teaser of SummerSlam. While Rey Mysterio defeated Sami Zayn, Braun Strowman squashed a local wrestler. Stone Cold Steve Austin closed the show with the other legends in the ring.

It was a great episode of the Red Brand but it could have been better. Here we discuss three mistakes WWE made at RAW Reunion:

#3 Still no credible opponent for Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre had a colossal battle at Extreme Rules where he teamed up with Shane McMahon to take on the team of Roman Reigns and The Undertaker. Following Extreme Rules, the Scottish Psychopath faced Cedric Alexander on RAW. Interestingly, McIntyre suffered a shocking loss against Cedric Alexander last week.

McIntyre redeemed himself for the defeat as he completely decimated Cedric Alexander at RAW Reunion. Nevertheless, Cedric Alexander is definitely not a credible opponent for the former NXT Champion. The company is not likely to renew the rivalry until after SummerSlam.

SummerSlam is just three weeks away and McIntyre doesn't have a credible opponent for The Biggest Party of the Summer. When McIntyre fought the Undertaker in a Tag Team Match at Extreme Rules, a large number of fans speculated that the two men could tussle at SummerSlam, but that is looking less likely now.

#2 Another defeat for Samoa Joe

A titanic match took place at RAW Reunion where Samoa Joe locked horns with Roman Reigns. Rikishi joined The Usos when Jimmy and Jey fought The Revival. Samoa Joe mocked Rikishi and The Usos but the former US Champion was interrupted by Roman Reigns. Subsequently, they had a match as the Big Dog pinned Joe.

Samoa Joe attained a significant momentum after he became the number one contender for Kofi Kingston's WWE Championship at Extreme Rules. While Joe failed to beat the WWE Champion, the former certainly delivered a great match. In my humble opinion, Joe didn't need to fight Reigns on RAW. After gaining good momentum, Joe was defeated by the Big Dog. However, Reigns is searching for a new opponent at SummerSlam and it will be interesting to see if he renews the rivalry with Joe.

#1 The Universal Champion skipped RAW Reunion

The Champ was missing
The Champ was missing

Brock Lesnar had a memorable night at Extreme Rules where he cashed in the Money in the Bank contract to become the Universal Champion. Seth Rollins earned the right to face Lesnar at SummerSlam as the BeastSlayer won a Ten-Man Battle Royal Match on RAW last week. While Rollins was present at RAW Reunion, Brock Lesnar didn't show up. Rollins called out Lesnar on the Miz TV but the former was confronted by Lesnar's advocate Paul Heyman.

It is no secret that Brock Lesnar is a part-timer and he doesn't appear regularly. In his last two Universal Title reigns, Lesnar skipped many big shows. We saw the same scenario this week when the Universal Champion was absent from RAW Reunion. Considering Lesnar is the holder of the most coveted prize of the Red Brand, it was surprising that he skipped one of the biggest RAW episodes of the year.
