3 Champions who are unlikely to lose their title at Clash of Champions 2019

Who all will walk out as Champions after the Clash of Champions?
Who all will walk out as Champions after the Clash of Champions?

We are less than two days from the third annual edition of Clash of Champions - a PPV where every single title is under the obligation to be defended. WWE has scheduled 11 matches for the event and some of those bouts are looking promising. Universal Champion Seth Rollins will take on his tag team partner Braun Strowman with his title on the line. WWE Champion Kofi Kingston will have to defend his title against Randy Orton. All other main roster titles are also defended at the PPV (except the 24/7 championship).

Since there are so many title matches, it would be tough to predict which all champions will walk out of the PPV with his or her titles intact. In this thread, we will take a look at three champions who are in the least danger to lose their title at the third edition of Clash of Champions.

Disclaimer: This list does not mean that all the Superstars listed here will retain their titles at Clash of Champions - it just means that these Superstars have better odds to retain their titles - one way or another.

#3 Bayley - Smackdown LIVE Women's Championship

Babyface Bayley cashed in on a heel Charlotte Flair at Money in the Bank 2019 to become the Smackdown LIVE Women's champion. Now, Charlotte will challenge a heel Bayley for the same title at Clash of Champions.

One would guess this means Bayley will lose the title to Flair at the event. However, WWE often protects Champions who made a turn on their first few defences.

Bayley may not pin Flair at the event. However, she will most probably retain her title as she could call out for a DQ finish from Sasha Banks.

#2 Shinsuke Nakamura - Intercontinental Championship

An unlikely partnership with Sami Zayn could help rekindle Nakamura's WWE career.
An unlikely partnership with Sami Zayn could help rekindle Nakamura's WWE career.

Even though WWE has been only using Nakamura sporadically, the King of Strong Style has been using every second of screen time. His attack on The Miz on Smackdown LIVE a few weeks ago was brutal. Nakamura also defeated Finn Balor clean to become the Intercontinental Champion. "The Artist" is now indeed a credible heel champ.

Nakamura only lacked English speaking skills. But now with Sami Zayn in his corner, Nakamura can cover his only weakness in WWE. Zayn has been brilliant with his promos as well.

Moreover, the fact that The Miz is a RAW Superstar and the IC title is a Smackdown LIVE title is also not helping The A-Lister. Sure, The Miz could easily move to Smackdown LIVE if he defeats Nakamura but WWE would not be too keen to discredit a prosperous partnership of Zayn and Nakamura.

#1 Seth Rollins - Universal Championship

The RAW tag team champions will go at each other at Clash of Champions for the Universal Title.
The RAW tag team champions will go at each other at Clash of Champions for the Universal Title.

Only two Superstars have pinned Braun Strowman clean - Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. Reigns pinned Strowman clean at Fastlane 2017 and Elimination Chamber 2018, whereas Lesnar did it at No Mercy 2017.

Can Seth Rollins put behind his lackluster reign as Universal Champion behind him with a win over The Monster Among Men?

Or will Strowman finally become the Universal Champion after being booked badly numerous times? These are the most interesting questions in WWE as we head towards the Clash of Champions.

Ok, let's be real. Seth Rollins defeated Brock Lesnar clean at SummerSlam 2019 for a reason. Rollins is the face of RAW at the moment. WWE will not squander such a huge achievement in a month and Rollins will probably not lose his title at Clash of Champion.

At the same time, WWE has to protect Strowman as well. Thus our best bet is that WWE will resort to a corny finish - either a count-out finish or interference from someone like AJ Styles so that Rollins will remain the champion while protecting Strowman.
