5 Dream matches we might get to see at this year's Survivor Series

The traditional 5 on 5 match
The traditional 5 on 5 match

The 2017 Survivor Series match card was filled with dream matches that ranged from The Shield taking on The New Day to AJ Styles vs Brock Lesnar.

Although the PPV did deliver on numerous scales, the traditional 5 on 5 men's elimination match which had a lot of hype around it was brutally underwhelming. Even though the match included the likes of Braun Strowman, Kurt Angle, Triple H and John Cena, the match lacked action and had left the fans disappointed.

The only positive point from the main event was when WWE teased a feud between Triple H and Braun Strowman after Triple H and Braun were the only wrestlers on Team Raw against the lone warrior Shane McMahon in a 2 on 1 situation.

Triple H seemed to have turned his back on Braun as he looked to have teamed up with his brother in law to take down The Monster among men before Triple H fooled everyone and Pedigreed Shane. Braun didn't really seem to like the joke played by Triple H as he hit him with a Running Powerslam after the match.

The Brands recently had a Shake-up which opened up a lot of possibilities for dream matches that can take place this year. With that being said, let's look at the 3 dream matches that can take place at this year's Survivor Series PPV.

#5 Roman Reigns vs Shinsuke Nakamura

Glimpses of The Royal Rumble
Glimpses of The Royal Rumble

We all knew the results of The Elimination Chamber even before it happened and as expected Roman Reigns came out on top. Roman was in the main event of WrestleMania for the 4th consecutive time and we expected The Big Dog to come out victorious, but the unexpected happened and Brock Lesnar retained his title in a brutal match.

Roman got another opportunity to win The WWE Universal Championship at The Greatest Royal Rumble but there was yet another surprise ending as Brock retained the title successfully. Although Roman defeated Samoa Joe the following week at Backlash, he's currently in a storyline which involves him getting screwed over by the management.

Reigns lost his Money in the Bank qualification match after a distraction from Jinder Mahal. This week's Raw saw him ambush Mahal which meant he wasn't cleared to participate in his MITB qualification match. Also, Reigns wasn't given another shot at qualification after Kurt Angle mentioned he wasn't allowed any more opportunities by the management. Will this lead to frustration and lead him to finally turn heel?

Shinsuke Nakamura's time in the main roster was underwhelming due to poor storylines and matches. WWE finally gave him a reprieve after they turned him heel following a loss to AJ Styles at WrestleMania and the crowds are absolutely loving his "No speak English" gimmick. Shinsuke kept ambushing AJ week after week with constant low blows and also failed to win The WWE World Championship at The GRR after a double count-out. He's still involved in an entertaining feud with AJ Styles.

Assuming these two men manage to capture the titles of their respective brands, they will surely face off each other. The match will be highly entertaining and surely a hard-hitting match. Will the Big Dog cement his yard again? or will the King of Strongstyle come out on top?

#4 Ronda "Rowdy" Rousey vs Charlotte Flair

Ronda's debut appearance in WWE at The Royal Rumble

WWE signed one of the biggest names on the planet in the form of Ronda Rousey. Ronda made her debut appearance at The Royal Rumble after Asuka won the first ever Women's Royal Rumble and pointed at The WrestleMania 34 logo and also had a brief moment with Stephaine McMahon.

Next month during Ronda's contract signing at The Elimination Chamber, Kurt Angle revealed that Stephaine and Triple H couldn't wait to have her in WWE and own her. This led to her attacking Stephaine McMahon and putting Triple H through a table. In the following weeks, Kurt decided he'd team up with Ronda and take on the duo of Triple H and Stephaine McMahon at WrestleMania 34.

Ronda put up a magnificent performance and stole the show. Ronda's team was victorious after Stephaine taped out to her armbar. Ronda has managed to win over The WWE Universe and is pretty good on the mic. She's set to take on Nia Jax at The Money in the Bank for the Raw Women's Championship.

Charlotte Flair is undoubtedly one of the greatest female wrestlers of the present generation. Termed "Genetically Superior" Charlotte has proved herself time and again. She cemented her legacy after ending Asuka's undefeated streak at WrestleMania 34. The joy didn't last long as she lost the Smackdown Women's Title to Carmella the following week after she was ambushed by The IIconics. She also lost her rematch and is currently one of the participants of The Money in the Bank ladder match.

Ronda vs Charlotte will surely make a lot of headlines and the match will definitely be the one for the ages. What will happen when two of the most dominant female superstars in WWE face off each other? Will The Queen reign supreme? Or will Ronda's Athleticism and Armbar get the better of Charlotte?

#3 "Woken" Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt vs The Bludgeon Brothers

The unlikely duo are currently The Raw Tag Team Champions
The unlikely duo are currently The Raw Tag Team Champions

We were left wondering what WWE would do with Bray Wyatt's character after "Woken" Matt Hardy deleted him in the Lake of Reincarnation. WWE dropped a huge bombshell when Bray Wyatt returned at WrestleMania 34 to help Matt to win Andre The Giant Battle Royal.

These two bizarre superstars have since teamed up and made their presence felt in the Raw's Tag Team division. They captured the vacant Raw Tag Team Championship at The Greatest Royal Rumble after defeating The Bar and are gelling well together for the time being.

Luke Harper and Eric Rowan were repackaged as The Bludgeon Brothers, who have left destruction in their path since their arrival. After weeks of decimating local talents and other tag teams, they finally challenged The Usos for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship and successfully captured it in a triple-threat match at WrestleMania 34. They also managed to regain their title against The Usos at The Greatest Royal Rumble.

What will happen when "Woken" Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt face The Bludgeon Brothers? Will Harper and Rowan bow down to their one true master Bray Wyatt? Or will they turn on their former Wyatt Family leader? This will surely be an interesting match to watch.

#2 Seth Rollins vs Jeff Hardy

Seth Rollins has been on a roll since his magnificent performance in The Gauntlet match. Even though he lost in The Elimination Chamber match, Rollins managed to win The Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania after defeating The Miz and Finn Balor for the Title in an amazing. He also successfully defended his IC Title at The Greatest Royal Rumble in a ladder match.

The last time Rollins looked this good was during the time when he was portraying a heel WWE World Champion and was just pure gold.

Jeff Hardy made his shocking return to WWE at WrestleMania 33 along with his brother Matt and was later sidelined due to injury Jeff recently made his return after a layoff from injury the night after WrestleMania 34 and didn't really have any feud going on.

Next week on Raw the newly drafted WWE United States Champion Jinder Mahal was forced to defend his title by Kurt Angle against Jeff Hardy after Mahal's show of arrogance. Jeff was able to capture the title and was drafted to Smackdown Live the next day and is currently in a feu against Randy Orton.

Seth and Jeff have never faced each other one on one and are easily capable of putting up great matches together if given the right amount of freedom. If they do manage to hold on to their titles, they will most likely face each other at Survivor Series and we can expect them to tear the house down.

#1 The Shield vs SaNiTY

Dean Ambrose is currently recovering from injury.
Dean Ambrose is currently recovering from injury.

The Shield made their much-awaited comeback last year after each member was constantly ambushed by The Miz, Miztourage, and The Bar. We never got to see the full potential of The Shield as Reigns and Ambrose were injured within 2 months of the reunion with the stable having only 1 match as a proper team.

Dean Ambrose is currently on a layoff due to a legitimate Triceps injury and there are rumors floating that he'll be making his return as a heel and breaking up The Shield once again. Let's hope that's not the case and The Shield remain together for some more time and freshen up the main roster before they eventually disbanded.

Sanity, which consists of Eric Young, Alexander Wolfie, Killian Dain and Nikki Cross was drafted to Smackdown Live after the Superstar Shakeup. It was later revealed that Nikki Cross will remain at NXT as a singles competitor but is still a part of the Sanity. Sanity dominated NXT during their time and we are currently awaiting their debut.

What will be the outcome when The Shield face off against Sanity? Will the Hounds of Justice prevail? Or will Sanity introduce them to the dark side? The inclusion of Nikki Cross would have surely made the match a lot more interesting with Sanity using the numbers game. Nonetheless, this match will surely be worth our time and we can expect some hardcore actions from both the sides.
