3 dream WWE matches for Kurt Angle in 2019

Despite a horrifying Scottish beat-down, Kurt Angle is far from done!
Despite a horrifying Scottish beat-down, Kurt Angle is far from done!

In a recent Facebook Q and A, Kurt Angle made it clear that he hopes to battle quite a few competitors in the ring if his body allows. His advice to younger stars was one filled with poignancy as he mentioned they should take care of their bodies, something he regrets not doing.

Though breaking apart, Angle is still clear on wanting to make a go for it in the ring for WWE. This is seemingly good as has been proven in the past few months, Kurt Angle is actually a part-timer looking to put over the next set of stars. If certain wrestlers can eke out a great match out of him, including those he has dreams to confront, then the Hall of Famer could elevate them.

Think about it, a match between Angle and Seth Rollins, or Daniel Bryan, two men he has at the top of the list; would be wonderful. Yet it's not just the usual suspects Kurt could face, with WWE adamant on a feud with Baron Corbin for The Olympic Hero, there are a lot more weird combinations which can excite (not like a Corbin match).

Here are three matches Kurt Angle could give us in 2019 that has dream written all over it.

Dishonorable mention: vs Baron Corbin, WrestleMania 35

With no end in sight to Baron Corbin's reign of terror, and Braun Strowman unlikely to cause an abdication, Kurt Angle will need to step up to Baron Corbin. This will come on the road to WrestleMania, with Angle entering the Rumble to a huge pop and eliminating Corbin.

Eventually, this will set up a match between the two men to come out as RAW GM permanently. Unfortunately for the WWE Universe, Kurt wants to participate further in the ring, and his selflessness will more than likely see the man lose to Corbin, in a match meant to put over one of Vince McMahon's more under the radar projects.

Either way, a Corbin versus Angle match isn't exciting, which really kills the mood. On a normal day, one might see it on the kickoff show, but with WWE's current fascination with the golden glove champion, and part-time attractions, look to it being a featured RAW bout. Nothing dreamy about it.

#3 vs AJ Styles, WWE Crown Jewel; World Cup Round I

A match Kurt Angle has partaken in many times during his run at Impact Wrestling, a revisit in WWE might be the boost Kurt Angle's wrestling career needs. This depends on how long he intends to keep going. AJ Styles is definitely a top list superstar Angle has to face.

More than a dream match, this one could be the best option simply because Styles is the kind of guy to carry Angle to a safe but stellar contest. He did it not too long ago for Shane McMahon, providing WrestleMania 33's best match, so why not here. The crowds in Saudi Arabia loves its big former stars, and giving Kurt another showcase first time WWE match in the first round would be the way to go.

The two men are so aware of each other, that maybe Styles pull off a carry job. Angle might not have this on his top priorities list, but it's definitely something the fans are clamouring for. Either that, or give us another round of Joe vs Angle.

#2 vs Matt Riddle, NXT Takeover: War Games - for the NXT North American Championship

Riddle is the next big thing; Oh it's true, it's damn true bro!

If WWE really wants to utilise Kurt in the way he has been so far, then the best bet would be to push the part-timer to take a small tour of NXT. There's not only a litany of dream matches waiting for him, but he can even regain his groove back. A short stint on the yellow brand would do Kurt a world of good.

While it's doubtful WWE forces him into the UK NXT brand, a face-off against Pete Dunne shall ignite fan warfare. Yet the one person he might make a great pair with would be none other than Matt Riddle. An amalgamation of RV, Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle; he'd put on a show with the resident bro.

Matt Riddle came into wrestling just a few short years ago, and his unbelievable rise as well as improvement has seen many comparisons to Kurt's own quick change from Amateur to Pro-Wrestling back in the day. A mat classic between the duo as long as Riddle is willing to control his strikes, is one way to get Kurt going. It'd be a refreshing angle for Angle to partake in.

#1 vs Daniel Bryan, SummerSlam 2019

This one is a damn guarantee!
This one is a damn guarantee!

After being ousted from the General Manager spot, Baron Corbin shall be quick to trade-off Kurt Angle to the blue brand. You can bet Shane wouldn't mind taking on the part-timer and friend, as long as there's no more under siege moments between them.

Before his proposed dream match against Styles and Riddle, this is one Angle will get to fulfill in a blockbuster summer contest. The now rejuvenated and heel Daniel Bryan is a perfect foil and mirror to Kurt Angle.

Their rivalry could even span a few more PPV's if WWE is willing to go deep into the parallels between the two men, especially giving Kurt a win back after this Bryan victory.

On one end is a broken Kurt who should have been put down a long time ago, on the other, a vindictive Bryan returned from a career-ending injury, with a ruthless demeanor. It's absolutely perfect, given the fact especially that this might be one of Kurt Angle's dream matches, WWE is 100 percent going to dabble into it in the coming year.

Oh, it's true, it's damn true!
