3 Fantastic botches and mistakes you missed this week on SmackDown Live (10th September 2019)

WWE's final stop on the road to Clash of Champions this Sunday night was in Madison Square Garden for this week's episode of SmackDown Live which featured the return of The Undertaker, who was obviously only there because WWE was live in the most famous arena in the world.

Undertaker's appearance was brief and ended with a chokeslam to Sami Zayn before the real action got underway and the build-up to Clash of Champions began.

Elias' injury meant that Chad Gable was forced to face Shane McMahon if he was going to make it to the final of the King of the Ring Tournament, whilst Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton stepped up the brutality of their feud en route to their second clash surrounding the WWE Championship this weekend.

The company may have been in the world's most famous arena, but there were still several interesting botches and mistakes throughout the show.

#3. King of the Ring qualifier?

The King of the Ring semi-final originally pitted Chad Gable against Elias, but an ankle injury to The Drifter meant that Gable was instead forced to face Shane McMahon in the match and The Best in the World later recruited Kevin Owens as the special guest referee.

Ahead of their match, Shane spoke to Gable backstage about his Cinderella story throughout the tournament and his match last week against Andrade. The match was the quarterfinal of the competition, but McMahon said that it was a King of the Ring qualifier.

It is unknown why Shane believed that this was a qualifying match since WWE didn't have any qualifying matches for this year's tournament because the 16 men were all named ahead of the start of the competition a few weeks ago.

#2. The Miz dropped Andrade

Andrade has become quite the jobber as of late since he's now lost a handful of matches on the bounce. This week he came up short against The Miz, ahead of the latter's match for the Intercontinental Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura this weekend at Clash of Champions.

Andrade was on top throughout the match but since he doesn't have a match this weekend at Clash of Champions, it made sense for The Miz to pick up the victory so that he looked strong going into his title match.

Andrade went for the moonsault mid-match but then turned it into a backflip when Miz moved, but it appears that the smaller man wasn't in the right position to take the move and actually ended up falling over whilst holding Andrade before he was able to find his composure and stand back up whilst he was holding him.

The Miz has been part of the wrestling business now for almost 15 years and rarely ever botches in the ring, but this week in the world's most famous arena must have been too much for The A-Lister.

#1. Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton botch with the table

The feud between Randy Orton and Kofi Kingston surrounding the WWE Championship was always destined to become brutal, but the two stars took it one step further this week on SmackDown Live when they decided to brawl in the audience and Kingston looked to recreate history by putting Orton through a table.

As the duo brawled, Orton looked to hit Kingston with a chair whilst he was lying on the table, but the Champion managed to kick him off and somehow the force of this broke the table. It was obvious that this wasn't supposed to happen since Kingston then stood and thought about his options for a moment before realizing there was another table and used that instead.

Kingston was forced to perform his leg drop from a strange angle because the table was over the other side of the stairs, but the duo was still able to save the spot thanks to some quick thinking and whichever crew member decided to place a random table behind the original one, just in case.
