The match card for the Clash of Champions could prove to be huge.

The recently concluded WWE's biggest event of the summer, SummerSlam 2019, proved to be a huge success. Not only did WWE receive a lot of praise from both critics and fans but the event also managed to be a huge commercial success. However, all that is in the rearview mirror now as WWE gears up for its next pay-per-view - Clash of Champions.

Scheduled for September 15, 2019, Clash of Champions will be held at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Creative has already started building up to the event. As a matter of fact, it laid down the breadcrumbs for a few potential clashes for September 15 this week on Raw and SmackDown.

Furthermore, with Sasha Banks returning this week on Raw, plus WWE potentially pushing Braun Strowman in the main event scene, it would not be wrong to say that the recent turn of events has surely stirred up things in WWE. Thus, expect the match card of the upcoming pay-per-view to feature some mouthwatering matches.

So, without further ado, in this article, we take a look at 3 huge matches WWE could be planning for Clash of Champions.

#3 Drew McIntyre vs Andrade in the finals of the King of the Ring tournament

Will it happen?
Will it happen?

This week on its flagship show, WWE announced that they would be bringing back the King of the Ring tournament next Monday on Raw.

Even though they have not revealed any of the matches or brackets for it, WWE did reveal the 16 participants - The Miz, Ricochet, Cedric Alexander, Drew McIntyre, Cesaro, Baron Corbin, Sami Zayn and Samoa Joe representing the red brand and Elias, Kevin Owens, Chad Gable, Andrade, Shelton Benjamin, Buddy Murphy, Ali and Apollo Crews representing the blue brand.

Furthermore, according to the recent reports, the finals of the tournament is scheduled to take place at Clash of Champions, and McIntyre and Andrade could eventually be final two men fighting each other to become the new King of the Ring.

Well, there is no denying that the likes of Andrade and McIntyre are two hot favourites to win the whole thing. While McIntyre's qualification for the finals seems all but obvious from the Raw brand, the case is not as simple when it comes to the blue brand.

Kevin Owens, Ali, and Andrade seem ahead in the race compared to the rest on the blue brand. However, expect WWE to have Shane McMahon play his tricks to cost KO the qualification. On the other hand, given his recent back-to-back victories, Andrade might just tip over Ali by the nearest of margins to qualify for the finals.

#2 Sasha Banks vs Becky Lynch for Raw Women's Championship with Natalya being the special guest referee

It would be a huge matchup
It would be a huge matchup

After months and months of speculation, The Boss, Sasha Banks, returned this week on Raw. However, much to the shock of the live audience, she quickly went on to turn heel and lay waste to Becky Lynch and Natalya. Thus, a potential matchup between The Boss and The Man for Raw Women's Championship seems all but obvious for Clash of Champions. However, WWE could spice things up by adding Natalya as the special guest referee.

Yes, amongst the Lynch vs Banks fiasco one should not forget that Natalya too faced the wrath of The Boss after being abruptly interrupted while she was addressing the crowd. Thus, adding Natalya in this feud would make complete sense.

Furthermore, this would give rise to endless possibilities which could play out on September 15. Natalya turning on Becky to cost her the championship could be one such amusing possibility. I mean, a title run could be one of the perks Vince might have promised Banks after her meltdown at WrestleMania 35.

Also, this would not only act as an apt explanation for Lynch's loss but would also lay down the breadcrumbs for an intense feud between the duo for the following days.

#1 Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan

It would be a blockbuster matchup.
It would be a blockbuster matchup.

The storyline surrounding Roman Reigns' mystery attacker has been one of the most amusing things going on in WWE recently. While Daniel Bryan is speculated to be the man behind the attacks, it would be interesting to see how WWE goes on about revealing the same.

Well, given Daniel Bryan has promised to reveal the mystery attacker on the upcoming episode of SmackDown, I can see Bryan joining forces with Rowan to absolutely decimate Reigns after revealing himself as the mystery attacker.

This would then certainly lay down the breadcrumbs for a blockbuster matchup between the two for September 15.

Given the recent turn of events, a high voltage, personal and intense feud between The Big Dog and Daniel Bryan leading to a huge matchup on September 15 at Clash of Champions looks to be on the cards. Also, with the duo being the proven performers that they are, Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan has the calibre to even become the match of the year.
