3 Interesting observations from WWE Crown Jewel 2019

Brock Lesnar conquered Cain Velasquez in mere minutes!

The recently concluded Crown Jewel pay-per-view was a momentous event from start to finish. WWE has gotten a lot of flak for hosting some unimpressive shows in Saudi Arabia in the past, so expectations weren't high going into last night's Crown Jewel event.

However, the PPV delivered on a lot of fronts, and even if this isn't saying much - Crown Jewel 2019 is the best show that WWE has ever hosted in Saudi Arabia so far. There were a lot of unexpected moments, such as "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt becoming the new Universal Champion and Brock Lesnar's quick WWE Title defense against Cain Velasquez.

Even if it wasn't perfect, Crown Jewel 2019 set a good standard for future events to be hosted in the same kingdom. After all, WWE had its first-ever women's wrestling match in Saudi Arabia, which was an emotional moment for the fans as well as the performers (Lacey Evans and Natalya).

Here are a few interesting observations from WWE Crown Jewel 2019.

#3 Why Mansoor should be featured on WWE's weekly shows

At last night's pay-per-view, Saudi Arabia's own Mansoor went toe-to-toe with The Swiss Superman, Cesaro. Anybody who has been watching WWE's Saudi Arabian shows knows that Mansoor has been featured on these events a couple of times before.

But the Saudi Arabian professional wrestler truly showed what he is capable of last night, where he exceeded expectations by putting on a stellar match against Cesaro. Undoubtedly, Mansoor is more than capable enough to put on an entertaining match, and that brings up the question - why haven't we seen him on WWE's weekly shows yet?

He will always be a star-attraction in front of a Saudi Arabian crowd, but Mansoor will have to eventually cross over to a North American stage sooner or later. Mansoor is the first Saudi wrestler to have ever competed in WWE, but he can he live up to that statement by successfully transitioning over to WWE's weekly shows?

#2 Why "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt's Universal Title victory is best for business

"The Fiend" Bray Wyatt defeated Seth Rollins in a grueling battle last night and became the new Universal Champion. As good as the match was, Wyatt's Universal Title victory gives people a solid reason to tune in to this week's Friday Night SmackDown.

Now that two major championships belong on the Blue brand (WWE Title, Universal Title), it will be interesting to see where that leaves Monday Night RAW in the meantime.

Since The Fiend is booked as a separate, terrifying entity from the Firefly Fun House version of Bray Wyatt, is it possible that the Universal Champion can appear on both shows as two distinct versions of himself? Maybe the Bray Wyatt brand as a whole will switch over to Monday nights, or perhaps things will remain as it is, who knows?

Whatever the case may be, it looks like people finally have a reason to tune in to WWE's weekly shows - Bray Wyatt's appearance on SmackDown might lead to a resolution when it comes to this title mess.

But whenever it comes to Wyatt, things are not always as they seem. As he will make his first appearance outside of the Firefly Fun House set on SmackDown, what do you think lies in store for the Universal Championship?

#1 Why Brock Lesnar was always favored to win against Cain Velasquez at Crown Jewel 2019

The Beast Incarnate went head-to-head against his UFC rival, Cain Velasquez at Crown Jewel 2019. Not only that, but Brock Lesnar also conquered Rey Mysterio's ally under three minutes.

The bout itself had an MMA-like approach towards it from the very beginning. It looked like Lesnar was struggling to match his rival's intensity, and that was about the only offense Velasquez would have against the WWE Champion. Before the match could ever reach its true potential, Velasquez tapped out to Brock Lesnar's Kimura Lock a little over the two-minute mark.

Even if the bout's length came off as a surprise to many, The Beast Incarnate was always the favorite to win even before the match had started.

First of all, Velasquez isn't equipped to lead the show as the WWE Champion at this stage. We also know that WWE tends to host several matches whenever two huge stars are involved and Lesnar's victory would make it a "1-1" scenario between himself and Velasquez, which might eventually lead to a "third showdown" between them in the future.

So it didn't look like Cain Velasquez was going to be winning anyway. But in the meantime, it appears as if the actual meat of this storyline didn't involve Velasquez at all, because his loss only acts as a trigger for Rey Mysterio to take down Brock Lesnar in the future.

Will The Master of the 619 be able to overcome Brock Lesnar's wrath at this stage in his career?
