3 interesting observations from WWE SmackDown (November 29, 2019)

"The Fiend" Bray Wyatt took his gimmick to a whole new level this week!

This week's edition of SmackDown was quite an eventful one for WWE fans. The primary overarching plot of the night involved "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt and Daniel Bryan's intriguing feud. It featured a lot of unexpected twists throughout the episode.

Also, stars like Sheamus, Alexa Bliss, and Elias returned to WWE TV after a long time, and it felt refreshing to see that SmackDown is moving past this year's Survivor Series event superbly.

There were also some underwhelming developments in the episode, but most of that was overshadowed by the big moments that followed.

Here are a few interesting observations from this week's WWE SmackDown on FOX (November 29, 2019).

#3: WWE teased what's in store for Sheamus and Elias in the future

Sheamus has been an integral part of WWE's modern era since his debut. But over time, The Celtic Warrior's appeal diminished as fans moved on to other new talents who arrived on the main roster.

However, after a well-deserved break, Sheamus is back on SmackDown, and to give credit where it's due, the teaser for his comeback was quite impressive to watch.

Sheamus called out The Fiend, Ali and Shorty G as some of the new acts that have taken over the Blue brand since he has been gone. While The Fiend is off-limits for now, WWE could likely push him into a program with the latter two Superstars.

On the other hand, Elias also made a return backstage after interrupting Dana Brooke and Drake Maverick's segment.

You could see that Elias hasn't lost a step when it comes to charisma. WWE teased a partnership between Brooke and Elias, which could be a great way to capitalize on Brooke's status after being in the wrestling headlines (along with Batista) recently.

#2: Lacey Evans' potential babyface turn might be a misstep for the SmackDown Women's Division

Lacey Evans' gimmick as a Sassy Southern Belle has benefited her character in many ways so far. A division cannot succeed without great characters, and Evans is an important addition to the SmackDown roster. However, Evans' gimmick isn't suitable for a babyface role in any way, shape, or form.

She had a nice moment with Natalya in Saudi Arabia, where both women let go of their personas for the time being. But that is not a good reason why a character should turn into a babyface suddenly.

Not only that, but WWE's harsh booking towards Bayley has started to show its effects at an early stage. It's hard to pinpoint what exactly is going on with her. Maybe she isn't being written as a character with many strong moments, or perhaps it is the performer's growing disinterest after facing so many lows in recent times.

When you combine both of these characters, especially in a way that doesn't fit them at all, what you might get is another disappointing women's feud on SmackDown. Let's hope that isn't the case here.

#1: Bray Wyatt has mentally and physically changed Daniel Bryan

Interestingly, The Miz was right all along. The A-Lister had warned Daniel Bryan about "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt several times, including on last night's SmackDown. But Bryan can't back down from a challenge after the YES Movement was brought back into existence because of The Fiend.

As The Miz had predicted, The Fiend changed Bryan last night. Wyatt's demonic persona ripped out Bryan's hair at the end of the episode. This left many fans confused, but it still meant something.

The act of ripping out Bryan's locks could mean the new face of Firefly Fun House was Bryan all along, as we could see his essence being portrayed in the form of a puppet next week. Was that why The Fiend ripped out his hair?

Maybe Daniel Bryan was changed by The Fiend both mentally and physically, just like his actions have affected Finn Balor and Seth Rollins' respective personalities.

What's different this time around is that Bryan may have needed to change for the better. We already see how The Fiend acts as a catalyst for Bryan's transformation from The Planet's Champion back to being the YES Man.

So, will The Fiend's attack 'Hurt' or 'Heal' Daniel in the long run? What do you think?
