The Fiend could pay a surprise visit on the upcoming episode of Raw.

The previous episode of WWE's A show – Monday Night Raw – garnered mixed reviews from both fans and critics. While the show had its fair share of ups and downs, the episode as a whole failed to live up to the expectation of fans.

While the duo of Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler became the number one contenders for the Raw Tag Team Championships after winning the Tag Team Turmoil, Ricochet and Baron Corbin qualified for the next round of King of the Ring tournament by defeating Drew McIntyre and The Miz respectively. To be honest, a win for Corbin was always on the cards, however, McIntyre getting knocked out in the very first round came as a shock to many.

Furthermore, WWE announcing Seth Rollins vs Braun Strowman for the Universal Championship at Clash of Champions was also another major development on the show.

Given the mixed reviews of the last episode, WWE would like to bounce back when Raw comes live from Baltimore, Maryland this Monday night. While WWE has already announced that lucha libre legend Rey Mysterio would be returning to Raw on the upcoming episode, the quarter-finals of the King of the Ring tournament is also scheduled for the upcoming week. Thus, another interesting episode of WWE's apex show looks totally on the cards.

So, without further ado, in this article, we take a look at 3 interesting things which could happen on the upcoming episode of Raw.

#3 The Fiend attacks Rey Mysterio

Mysterio could become the next victim of the Fiend
Mysterio could become the next victim of the Fiend

WWE has already announced that Mysterio would be returning to Raw on the upcoming episode. However, the lucha legend could meet the same fate as Mick Foley, Kurt Angle, and Jerry 'The King' Lawler.

Given the rumors of The Fiend vs the Universal Champion (Strowman or Rollins) at Hell in a Cell, it seems Wyatt is not going to feature in any feud at least until September 15. Thus, WWE Creative could have The Fiend destroy Mysterio to keep himself in the news.

On the other hand, WWE could then take Mysterio off WWE TV to relaunch him afresh with his son.

#2 WWE announces Becky Lynch vs Sasha Banks for the Raw Women's Title with Natalya as the guest referee

Natalia could play a vital role in the ongoing Lynch-Banks feud

While the feud for the Raw Women's Championship has been revolving around Sasha Banks and the current champ, Becky Lynch ever since the former's shocking return on Raw following SummerSlam, WWE has kept Natalya involved in the storyline and given how things have been unfolding recently, she could very well play a major role in this ongoing rivalry.

Yes, after getting attacked by a returning Banks on Raw following SummerSlam, Natalya returned the favor on the last episode of Raw. While she went on to lose to The Boss in a match later, the duo is far from being over with each other.

On the other hand, rumor has it that Banks vs Lynch is scheduled for the Raw Women's Championship at Clash of Champions. Thus, it counts out the possibility of a triple threat match on September 15 between the aforementioned names. Nonetheless, WWE could add Natalya as the special guest referee to spice things up.

Given that there are just two weeks left for Clash of Champions, expect WWE to do the honors on the upcoming episode of Raw. This would then give Creative around one week's time to hype up the match.

#1 King of the Ring quarterfinals

The quarter-finals are scheduled for the upcoming week.

The quarterfinals of King of the Ring is scheduled for the upcoming week. In case you did not know, the likes of Samoa Joe, Ricochet, Cedric Alexander and Baron Corbin have already qualified for the quarterfinals from the red brand. Similarly, Ali, Chad Gable, Andrade and Elias from SmackDown have also qualified for the quarterfinals of the tournament.

While Samoa Joe will take on Ricochet, Cedric Alexander will clash against Baron Corbin for a place in the semifinals of this coveted tournament on the upcoming episode of Raw.

Well, after knocking out tournament favorite Drew McIntyre, Ricochet seems all but guaranteed to represent Raw in the finals on September 15. Thus, a win against Joe seems totally on the cards for the former US champion.

On the other hand, given WWE's affinity towards heel vs babyface scenarios plus their love towards Corbin, expect creative to award the former MITB winner a place in the semifinals leading to a high profile match against Ricochet.
